Splinterlands Art Contest! // Week 181 // Cornealus

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing great!

This is my first time joining the weekly Splinterlands Art Contest. It has been a very long time since I tried to draw something. I really love art since I was a kid. It is just my passion and confidence to do so, vanished. This contest and seeing other amazing artists here inspired me to practice again.

As for my first submission, I chose Cornealus as my reference. My process is shown below:

1. Quick Sketch (I tried... :c )

I don't have a pen tablet so I used pencil and paper to draw. This sketch serves as my reference only. Some adjustments and improvisation were done later in my progress.

2. Open it on Photoshop
Tracing is a bit hard when only using mouse. My goal in the future is to purchase a pen tablet to be able to maximize the time, effort and to practice more.

3. Draw 3 Circles - Eyeball, Pupil and Iris

4. Draw the Blood Vessels of Cornealus

5. Additional Details

6. Highlights, Shadows, Glow and Tweaking

7. Add text, background and finalization

I added some smoke and a cave background from Google to add some texture and creepiness of the monster.

I feel like adding its name, identity and lore will add some depth for whatever concept I was thinking during making this.
