Starting a new job Monday!

Worth noting that I already started writing this post on Inji, but then I went to settings before posting, and then I couldn't find the post I was working on in drafts or anything. That seems like a design flaw. Another thing was that I was getting to the end of the character limit, but I still had more nonsense to shit out. So here I am back at the trusty old PeakD.

If you've been following my posts, you know that I've been dabbling with getting back into the workforce, but I've been treading lightly on my journey. I got a job a few weeks ago, worked it for two weeks, and decided it wasn't for me, so I quit. I'm lucky in that I don't need to work at the moment to get by. The money doesn't hurt, but I have been able to pay my bills using crypto earnings and have been doing that for half a year or so. Obviously, markets are down right now, so the earnings are slowing down. I want to pay my bills with fiat, and I also want to reinvest my airdrops and staking rewards into Bitcoin. So back to work I go!

Yesterday, I interviewed for a new job, and truth be told, I didn't think it went all that well. I started off a little rocky because the person interviewing me asked some of the "tell me about yourself" type questions that everyone kind of dreads. Or at least I do. I prefer more direct questions pertaining to work, which is what I'm used for the sorts of warehouse-type jobs I've been working lately. The interview got better as it went on, as I was able to get past some of the smalltalk and get into more of my work history and skills. I know it's just hard to get anyone hired right now, which probably had a lot to do with it.

The company I'll be working for is international and makes bottling lines for beverages. Apparently, 75% of the bottling lines in the world are made by them. That's pretty impressive. It's a bigger company than I've ever worked for, so we'll see how that goes. There's room for advancement as it's a growing business, and it'll surely be busier than the last place I worked. That's good. I prefer to be as busy as possible. It makes the days go by faster.

There are reasons I'll probably need more money in the near future that I don't want to really get into right now except to say that it involves me getting divorced. There are things I'll need to buy that I didn't foresee being an issue until recently. Furniture and kitchen stuff and all of that. I might get into some of my thoughts about that more later, but it's a personal issue, and of respect for my wife, I do not want to share any specific details about the situation.

Because of this whole situation, though, my plan to get to 25,000 Hive Power is probably put on hold. I've started a power-down to help fund some of the things I need to fund in the near future in relation to this split. The clock is ticking. I actually put a few Splinterlands cards on the market as well, but that's a shitshow right now. No one is buying shit. If I sell a couple of them, though, I can stop the power down and continue with my plan to max out at 25,000 Hive Power.
