Missing summer and it's not even officially winter yet!

This song ends up in my head a lot, and it reminds me of times I have had in my life, but not for a while. An entire summer went by this year and I didn't really go out and do the types of social things alluded to in this song, but I definitely did those things more as a younger man.

That's not to say I didn't do some fun things that I would love to be doing now if it weren't winter. Instead of hanging out and drinking with friends, I like camping with family, kayaking, hiking, and stuff like that. It's going to be so warm tomorrow that I could probably do any of those things if I really wanted to.

I'm not sure what it is about Brent Cobb's songs, but I really like them. Spotify told me that he was my most-listened-to artist in 2021, at least during the time I used Spotify. I ended up switching back to Apple Music because I was paying for both. Kind of a long, boring story. No one cares about what bills I pay for listening to music.

Brent Cobb writes a lot of songs for other artists which are probably more popular than the songs he records himself, but I don't really care for the types of artists he writes for. They're more along the lines of modern country, which isn't my thing. I think Brent Cobb has a more classic sound that sometimes sounds more like Allman Brothers or something than whoever the popular "country" artists are these days. Country these days sounds like pop music with twangy vocals.

The biggest downside is the lack of daylight this time of year. When I head to work, the sun is just barely starting to rise. When I get out of work, the sun has already set. That makes it hard to get in a lot of hikes and kayak trips, despite the temperature. That's okay, though. In just about one week, the days will start getting longer every day again. Spring will be here before I even know it! In the meantime.
