Finally, to the destination - Trekking 2

Warm Greetings dear Hiveans!! Hope the week ahead proves fruitful for all of you. Life has so much in store for us, but goes unnoticed. This article is the continuation and conclusion of my trekking journey in the hill stations of Munnar, SouthIndia which I posted few days back. My part 1 Trekking Journey

The beginning of my journey from the resort

The journey was full of twist and turns in the midst of the tall trees and full of cardamom plantation, in simple english a dense forest to say. But this was already informed to us by the resort manager saying "nothing to fear, its safe". Though the journey lasted for 3 kms to and 3kms fro, the trekking was such fun.

These are cardamom plantations

Cardamom plantation

To our surprise their wasn't any houses around, only tall trees on trails, sounds of birds chirping, and sweet fragrance of air and at some places the cardamom fragrance uncontrolled by the air. Cool breeze blew in then and their making as chill.

Violet flowering plant were found in innumerable numbers as we walk along

A violet flowered flower, bloomed all over the place, makong the greenery more beautiful. The violet colour was such a contrast attracting us towards it. The sunshine was not visible, as canopies from the trees were just above our head covering the sunshine rays.

One of the main instruction guven to us by the resort manager, was towards the end of our trekking we will come across a beautiful empty cottage. And that would be exactly 3kms after. This provoked us to keep moving forward. The cottage was built by some Britishers, around 80 years ago and later, when it fell into the hands of Indian landowners, they kept renovating it, every now and then.

The hunt for the cottage still went on. Finally, faraway, we saw smoke from probably a chimney. Thst was like a victory for Me and my family members. After 3kms of trekking, we thought we reached the destination. On reaching close by, we noticed that it was a hut. That really came as a shock, because that was the first house we came across after trekking for 3 kms. Later we came to know that it qas the servants rest house.

climbing up and down made the trekking complete

It was not about trekking, but the climbs we made up and down and the distance we covered , came as a disappointment when we saw the little hut. As we hiked with empty stomach, all of us were exhausted and decided to go back.

But then, as I mentioned earlier the roads were full of twist and turns, there was another tuurn with cardamom plantation on either side. My husband said why don't we take one last chance of going forward. As I did not have any energy to move, I sat on the lane and my husband and children moved on.

Entrance of the cottage

These were the various captures of the resort from different angles

Huge Bamboos on one corner of the cottage

And as I was waiting for them, afar, I heard a chorus scream of joy and guess what, that was the last road leading to the most beautiful cottage. No entry inside the cottage. But the view outside was breathtaking with beautiful garden of flowers and fruits. The cottage was amidst thick forest I should say. It was like we were visiting a fairy tale land. Too many bamboo trees, tiny tot snakes we are also in visibility and we could hear the gushing of water nearby , probably a stream. But we could find none.

So, finally we reached our destination. We would have missed this wonderfuk view, if we would have turned off. But yes, we did complete the journey. We just enjoyed the nature, outside the cottage and trekked back to the resort for another 3km. And had a heavy breakfasr.

Photos captured by my family members, during our stay at Munnar, South India. Thanking you for your patience and valuable time.

What a nice ride. I imagined myself taking that route and it must have been something very beautiful. The place where the contrast of the violets is caught my attention. This is my way of traveling through Hive. Greetings.

That was quite a walk @shamis, thankfully the beautiful forest gave plenty of shade. The cottage is beautiful, do they rent it out to tourists, or do the owners live there permanently?
Lovely memories for you and your family!

Yes Mam that was a wonderful walk. Definitely the trees proved to be a great shade for us. For this walk we never saw sunshine, it was very dark at some places. The cottage is used only by the owner who visits once a month. Thanks for your comment.
