Do you have an old lens from Zenit? Be sure to use it for portrait photos 📷

When my husband and I bought our first professional camera (it was a used Olympus OM-D E-M5), it came with only an old lens from the Zenith Helios 44-2, with an adapter of course. That dude didn't even have a kit lens. Since we had no choice, we were forced to use what was still there. Then, of course, we bought a digital lens, but first we used this old lens, with manual focus and a constant focal length. Since my husband and I were just learning to take photos, we had just horrible photos at first. The best of that horrible we can see in our early posts 😄. Later we learned a little about the features of Helios and I even fell in love with it. This is the perfect lens for photos to a family album. It beautifully blurs the background (sometimes even the object of the photo, if this object is a child and she is constantly moving 😆) and adds some warmth and sincerity to the photos. I especially love using this old lens for fall photography. So recently I decided to arrange a small photo shoot for my children and my husband's nephew, because we had just harvested pumpkins and they could be used as props. I really like these photos, although they are devoid of documentary clarity. And how do you like it? I look forward to your feedback in the comments 😊. |

Photography is a good hobby and if the tools are of good quality then the photos are perfect. And the pictures you shared are great
Thanks! I'm glad you like my photos too! 😊 As for the tool, it is true that using good tools is much easier to work with, but if you do not have the skills, this tool will not be useful.
Yes, you are right. I agree with you.
Beautiful shots. Wondering what camera and lens you've got?
It's interesting that now I am start liking the pictures taken from old camera and lens 😅
I used a camera OLYMPUS E-PL7. As for the lens, you are very inattentive, because I wrote about it in the title of the post 😄
The 44-2 lens is awesome fir portraits but that’s something I rarely do I take myself be out occasionally and use it but it’s been a while
I also don't use this lens often, mostly for portrait photography
I think portrait work is what it is best suited fir
The Helios 44-2 is a pretty popular vintage lens these days due to that more oval bokeh it produces. It's close to anamorphic but still not quite; I actually have an 85mm 1.8 (not vintage) that produces the same bokeh and I love it for that.
It's great, the main thing is that you are comfortable taking pictures with it
Your photos are great. Now talking about your old lens, the magic is you, no matter the equipment. You are very good with a camera in your hand :) It shows in all the pictures on your blog. Blessings to your beautiful family
Oh, thank you so much for such a warm comment, you embarrassed me 😊
😊
Now these are beautiful shots.
Prove that if you keep trying, you'd get there someday
Thanks! I still have a lot to learn and there is still something to strive for
Jeep learning.
I'd love to be graced with more beauty.
These are some really good portrait photographs. I love the one of all three kids sitting and smiling while eating the fruit. Thanks for sharing with us!
You're welcome! I'm glad you liked my photo 😃
