Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree - Discovering a Dungeon and Taking a Leap of Faith [ENG/ESP]
The last day I defeated the first story boss, a pretty exciting fight and above all with a soundtrack that I loved. We are now supposed to follow Miquella's path and head to another fortress, but before doing that, I wanted to explore the map a bit more.
The first thing I found was a dungeon at the foot of a mountain, the entrance was hidden, but two statues of headless dragons that were at the door caught my attention. This dungeon is called the dragon's well, upon entering we will see that the enemies that swarm here are skeletal beasts, the same ones we found in the final part of the base game.
The dungeon does not have many nooks and crannies, it is more linear than anything else. As I went deeper I came to an open area in which, as soon as we enter, we will see how a dragon runs towards us with a mouth full of fire. There was a boss here. Beating him wasn't too difficult, mostly because I remember facing several of these in the base game, so I more or less remembered his attack pattern to dodge him correctly.
However, this boss was optional, as the dungeon still had some way to go. I kept moving forward until I reached a large room, it looked like some sort of altar. At the end of this room the bridge was broken, but at the entrance of the room there was a message on the floor that said "Be brave and show no fear". Although it was more or less obvious what the game wanted me to do, I admit I was hesitant for a while. But after going around the room several times and seeing that there was no other way forward, I jumped into the void. The character fell down a black hole, but, I didn't die, I reached the entrance of the real boss area of this dungeon. I love these little details, because the game gives you the clue, but it's up to you to interpret it.
The boss was a kind of knight, he was called Ancient Dragon Man. The fight was fun, he had funny attacks like pulling out a dragon head and trying to bite us, spitting fire or using his sword to throw a red slash at us.
When I defeated him I got his weapon, called Grand Katana of dragon hunter. Although visually I like it quite a lot, after trying it for a while it didn't convince me, so I will continue with my weapon.
With the dungeon finished, I kept moving around the area to see what I could find and, to my surprise, it didn't take me long to get to another dungeon, but this time it was a kind of forge. I loved the setting it has, with the chains hanging and that reddish tone in the air.
Inside the forge there was a new type of enemy, a kind of Golem that you had to find a way to attack it from behind, since that's where its weak point is. There were also small fire slimes falling from the ceiling.
Moving forward I reached an area full of lava where I had to activate a mechanism to lower a giant tube from the ceiling and then use it as a bridge to continue advancing.
The tube led us to an altar, which looked more like a small active forge. By interacting with the altar we will get a new weapon, called the Anvil Hammer. After this the game will let us know that we have finished the dungeon and a quick trip to the entrance will appear. I was surprised to see that there are dungeons where there will be no bosses, they are more about activating mechanisms and stuff.
The hammer looks great and I admit I was tempted to change weapon, but it's not compatible with my stats, it requires intelligence and faith, my character is focused on strength and for the moment I don't intend to change it. So it will stay put away.
I like exploring more and more, you see the map and you feel that there could be an entrance to a cave in any wall of a mountain. Plus many times the reward for exploring is quite good, you never know if you will find a new weapon, a better piece of equipment than you have or just a powerful boss. I feel like I've explored enough in the area I'm currently in, so next day I'll most likely advance along the main path. I will most likely encounter the second main boss.

Just started this recently, been trying to go in blind but what I'm seeing here looks epic. The giant flaming torch at the beginning made me feel very unprepared, but I'm excited to reach the areas you wrote about - the exploration was my favorite aspect of the base game.
I hope you love it as you continue playing. Oddly enough, I liked the base game too, but I admit that in the last section I almost didn't explore because it was a bit long. But this DLC condenses everything into a smaller area and makes exploring much more enjoyable, at least for me.
¡Enhorabuena!

What a beautiful scenery, I have always been attracted to games where there are old abandoned and forgotten kingdoms in time, it's like being an explorer trying to understand what happened to make everything look like this. Just these last few days I've been getting a lot of reels of the game so now I'm going to read your adventures.
As always excellent posts, very well presented.
This game wanted to look like lord of rings, wonder if there got any games on that. I love the attack especially
Keep up the good work. 👏🎵
