Accepting Contest #62 of LOH: All about Christmas || Who and what food to celebrate with? 🤔
Ladies of Hive is such a fantastic community, and I'm glad to participate in this one after being idle for a month due to our Midterm examinations.
So, hmm... should I answer one or two questions? Well, I'll answer two! So here it is.
Question #1. Do you like to travel during the holidays, or stay close to home?
Well, this is a tough question coz I'm in between. Annually, we celebrate Christmas as a whole family with my aunt, cousins, and grandparents. So, every Christmas, we travel to Manila to celebrate with them.
If our entire fam wants to celebrate Christmas in the province, we'll go to our province, hehe.
Here are some of our photos from last Christmas 2018 where we celebrate the holiday in Makati City. Sadly, we celebrated there too in 2019, but I do not have any formal photos, lmao. Then, last 2020, we celebrate it in our home in Laguna, exclusive only to our family of five, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most of my fam are religious persons, so I got along with them when they visited the church. I love the aura of the pre-pandemic surrounding. 😍
Our aunt also brought us to this mall called "SM Aura" where every person screams expensive, hehe. They have this giant Christmas tree and we got to dine in at Starbucks.
I love to celebrate with my fam in Laguna, but this Christmas is different. My sister and I will celebrate Christmas in Manila, and my Mom and my brother will celebrate Christmas at home (in Laguna).
Why?
Because I wanna be away from home due to the stress of failing the midterm examinations, hehe. I wanna be in Manila coz I want to go to Bonifacio Global City (BGC), eat out, watch movies, and buy books with my ever-supportive aunt. I know that when I shared with her that my scores on midterms failed, she'll understand. And she just did! She also poured so many encouraging words to me yesterday hehe.
P.s. Our exams had no choices. :< I'm an accountancy student, so our exams mostly involve problem-solving, and having no choices in exams puts us with so much risks.
So, you can say, I really like spending Christmas away from our house. But I like spending it at home. Does that stir your mind, hehe?
Well, my family is my home, so I also like to spend Christmas at home. 🥰
Question #2. What is your favorite holiday food, and why?
I really love flavored chicken wings, lasagna, and mango graham cake for holidays with a touch of soju and wine. 🤍🤍
These foods are rarely prepared, and tasting them at Christmas gives so much satisfaction. I don't have any pictures of them coz back then, I don't particularly appreciate taking pictures of food. I just want them in my mouth asap, lol.
For chicken wings flavors, I mostly love the garlic parmesan, spicy, honey, and many more! (in short, all, haha)
How about you? How do you prefer celebrating Christmas? What foods give you so much feeling when tasting them that you wanna put on your table these upcoming Holidays?

Hello @sellennee. Sorry to hear of your failed exam. Hope for better days ahead. I remember taking accounting, and I soon realized that was not the direction I ever wanted to go. However, I did struggle through to learn enough to understand debit and credits in adulthood.
I absolutely love your food choice for the holiday. Chicken wings and lasagna. It's whatever you feel makes you feel good. I can also understand not taking photos because by the time you grab your camera, the food has disappeared.

Law school must be tough. I would probably take a retreat if I failed too. But cheer up because it's Christmas. Who knows what it might bring? 🤩❤

Sorry to hear that you failed the midterm exams, accountancy is very very hard I'd imagine. Don't stress about it too much though, I know you can bounce back from this, you still have time to make it up in your finals! Laban lang!!
