Photo Essay - Bees And Blossoms
Hello everyone! 📷😎
First of all, I wanted to say that I post more rarely in this community, but that's not quite accurate. The last post was a week ago, and it was about spring flowers.
In this post blossoms also play a prominent role, they are the basis of this short photo story.
To start with the bigger picture, or to preface, anyway, for the weekend, on Saturday we had very sunny and real spring weather here. It was even 20 degrees Celsius around midday. I helped a little bit at my mother's house. And she pointed out to me that it would not be bad to take a couple of photos of a fully bloomed tree.
There is a large orchard behind her house, and only one small tree is in full bloom. It's the only one of the fruit trees at the moment.
This is one type of plum, here called 'Mirabela' (Mirabelle), the fruit is orange in color and very sweet and full of flavor. The blossoms are white.
Well, our Mirabelle hasn't flowered for at least four years, but now, as you can see, it's a real explosion of flowers. And the first tree in the orchard to flower. And I went along, of course, to catch some more details. If nothing else, at least there will be some photos for the LMAC Gallery.
When I got next to it, it sounded like I was coming to a beehive. Everything was buzzing and it smelled like honey. Hundreds of worker bees were flying around and on the flowers, collecting pollen which is later processed into honey in the apiary.
Not to be long-winded, I took the opportunity to take some photos of the bees on the Mirabelle flowers.
The bees collect the pollen in special baskets on their legs and you can see this in the photos, how their legs are thickened and full of pollen.
Later I was thinking why were there so many bees on one tree? And the answer is in the palm of your hand, you don't have to be too clever. In the orchard, this tree was the only one in bloom! They couldn't go anywhere else, they could only fly to this flowering tree. All the other trees, the apple and pear trees, are still without flowers, just buds.
Thank you for your attention!
Some of the photos will soon be available for your usage in Hive's biggest public domain image library LMAC Image Library.

I admire the photographs of bees, I always wonder how you can capture them without being pecked. I'm a coward for that and I run away when someone approaches me. 😂 Very curious the detail that they accumulate pollen on their legs, I thought they had some special bag in their stomachs. In the photos they look perfect.
The flowers are beautiful, they are lucky to stand out in the garden. As they are the first, they take all the attention of humans and insects. 😁
Thank you. I must admit that I also thought that a bee would sting me. But I guess they didn't have time, they were too busy. 😀
👏 Keep Up the good work on Hive ♦️ 👏
Wow these are really mind blowing pictures 🤩
Thank you very much.
The flower of this plum tree is really very pretty, and the bee acts as a finishing touch to these shots, excellent shots, Greetings ✌️🌟
Yes, it's true. There wouldn't be this post if there weren't so many bees. 😎
Thank you very much for your support, @qurator and @ackhoo.
Great macro shots, congrats!
Thank you very much. Especially when it comes from someone who is much more knowledgeable about photography than I am. As I said somewhere, I'm not even an amateur photographer, let's say just an occasional one.
Lovely images!
That's very nice of you.
This is amazing
