Oldtimers Showcase

(Edited)

Hello, everyone! 😎

Last month, I unintentionally attended an event called Drivers' Day. It featured various activities, including a small exhibition of vintage vehicles or oldtimers.

What are oldtimers?
In our country, the law says they are older, well-preserved vehicles, and the type-approval authority has granted this status.
It can be given to a car that has been preserved and technically maintained to conform to its original construction and design and which, because of its historical and technical importance, is not intended for everyday use. Only a vehicle at least 30 years old may be granted the status of an oldtimer, i.e., be entered on a traffic license.

Some exciting vehicles were there, and I have prepared some photos. Since I'm not an expert, I've mainly searched Wikipedia for the exact models and markings, and if anyone finds that they're not the suitable models and versions, please correct me in the comments :)

I will start with the most numerous vehicles; there are still many on the roads now.

Volkswagen Beetle

You are all familiar with this car. It is still one of the more popular cars here. There have been a few of them; they are different models and vintages.

Zastava 750

Zastava 750 or 'Fičo' was a Yugoslavian-made car that was also very popular in the former Yugoslavia. It was a variant of the Fiat 600. From 1962 to 1985, it was produced under license from Fiat at the Crvena Zastava factory in Kragujevac, Serbia. Approximately 930,000 were produced.

Fiat 508 Balilla

The Balilla was an Italian small family car built by Fiat from 1934 to 1937. A popular vehicle at the time, it was also produced under license in Germany, Poland, France, and the Czech Republic.

Fiat 1100

The Fiat 1100, built between 1937 and 1953, was the successor to the Fiat 508 Balilla. The one pictured is from 1949.

Some Fiat tractors. I believe they are mobile, but I don't think they are still used for fieldwork.
They are too clean :)

A motorcycle that I don't know the name of, nor was there any marking on it.

Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe

One of the most famous sports cars, the Porsche Carerra, was built between 1964 and 1989. This is a 1973 coupe model, without roof.

Austin 1100 Innocenti

This car was built in the UK from 1968 to 1973. It was licensed by the Italian car manufacturer Innocenti and produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) under various names - Austin, Morris, MG Princess - and was one of the best-selling and most popular cars on the island at the time.

MG MGB Roadster

Produced in the UK from 1962 to 1995, this two-seater sports car was initially built by BMC, then by British Leyland, and finally by MG and the Rover Group.

There were also some American vehicles present. The most popular here is the Jeep.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe

This sports car dates from 1974 and was built between 1968 and 1982. There were several versions.
I was most fascinated by its engine, which was much cleaner than any of my much younger cars :)

Cadillac Coupe DeVille

Cadillac produced the DeVille luxury car series from 1958 to 1995. There are reportedly eight versions of these cars. According to the owner, this one is of 1974 vintage.
However, the owner, an elderly man from the area, moaned that his uncle had brought it to him. He could only afford to drive it once a month on his pension because, although luxurious, it is a very thirsty car πŸ˜‚.

Once again, all these cars are extremely well maintained, more so than many new cars, and can drive in traffic. As you have noticed, I have blurred the number plates because they are valid.

Thank you for your attention!

And here's something else:
I post everything in the @ecency front-end. So, I invite you to support Ecency Development And Maintenance #4 Proposal because I (and many others, too) would like to keep using it.

Support and vote for those exceptional witnesses:

Wow
It’s good to see those cars of those days
I’m shocked that they have separate laws

It's only if you declare your more-than-30-year-old car an oldtimer. If you do that, then the car insurance is meager.

I love them all!!! My favourite is the first, although that model is the Beetle, right?

I didn't know that Fiat had made tractors, I would never have imagined it.

Yes, the owners take great care of them. They are mostly mechanics who maintain them and know everything about these cars. !BEER
