LMAC205: Negotiation
Hello everyone! ๐๐ท
Today is day for making collages and here's my entry to the Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 205 - 54 HIVE in the Prize Pool!
The idea of what I wanted to see in the base photo came to me a few days ago when I was reading discussions on the forums about the Three-Body Problem series, based on the award-winning novel by Chinese writer Liu Cixin. The debate was more along the lines of which TV series is better, the Netflix one or the Chinese one. The trilogy is a glorious hard-core sci-fi epic about, I think, 600 years of humanity realizing that a much more advanced race is slowly encroaching on our solar system.
Well, the point of it all is to communicate and negotiate to this alien race. How and what are we even going to be able to talk to something completely alien to us? Are we going to talk or are we going to fight or are they going to march us like an ant with their more advanced technology?
I don't have the answer, but maybe this collage can show how we'll try to negotiate with something extraterrestrial and be prepared to defend ourselves.
If we can even agree on the threat.

The creation process
I made this collage in Photoshop.
I usually adjust the background first and then make the collage. But now I've taken a different route. First, I made a kind of alien creature from the main element in the base image, along with other elements from LIL, and then added the background.
Then I arranged all the other objects and placed them in layers in the collage.
Hope you have fun!

I havenโt seen the TV series but that if Chinese seem to be better and thatโs because it is the original
Iโve got no answer to your question too๐
Yes, that's the debate. I have read the books, but I have not seen the series. Netflix has 8 episodes for the first book, China has 30. On IMDb, the Netflix series is rated a little better.
I really like your alien: not like any I've seen represented.
And thanks for the sci recommendation. My husband won't like it but I can watch it on my own sometime when he's out playing cards :)
I've read all the books of the trilogy and liked them, I'll probably watch the Netflix series first now (because it's shorter, it only has 8 episodes, and maybe later the Chinese version which has 30 episodes).

With all these troops from every epoch ready to commit violence, it doesn't seem surprising to me that someone's hair is standing on end and that tears are shooting out of his eyes. ๐ฃ
He may be crying because he knows we will be wiped out.
