Donner Lake Panoramic Photoshoot With Quill Dog

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Join Quill dog and I for a little sunny day photo adventure above Donner lake in Truckee, California. Camara settings and techniques are discussed. The "keeper" photos are at the end of the video. I previously posted the photos on PeakD: Here, but I finally had time to work on the photoshoot video.

Thank you for looking and I hope you are all having a great day!

Wao The weather is so beautiful today where you have been and by the way we can see your dog is having a great time on the snow too. A person's heart becomes very happy after seeing the natural sights.

Finally the weather is beautiful! It's been a long rough winter up here so it's been great to have warm sunny days again. Quill dog love the snow but I can tell he's happy when he finds little dirt spots where the snow has completely melted. Glad you like seeing those sights!

Dogs love such things so they keep playing with them.

At some point, I was thinking that your dog will freeze because of the snow.
I have always heard that the snow is always very cold even though I have not experienced it before

No worries about Quill dog, he loves the snow and would stay outside in it all day if we let him. Even when it's incredibly cold out, he prefers not having his dog boots on. The snow is great in my opinion, however, it's been a bit much this year. We had the second snowiest winter on record for our area. Cheers!

I agree! It gets a bit crowded at times but I completely understand why so many people like to visit and vacation here.

I love that panoramic. I have a funky space over my desk that I want to print a panoramic shot for. I'm thinking 18:6 maybe. What ratio is the panoramic you got of Donner? btw my son has used PTgui for some astronomy photos with good results.

It's about a 4:1 ratio. Definitely a funky size but I sell long pano prints on occasion for those kind of areas. The resolution on the stitched panos is huge and is perfect for extra large prints.
PTgui rocks! Glad to hear your son is using it. I use it a lot for real estate photography, when producing 360 degree photos. It's really nice that you can fine tune where the stitches happen. Cheers!

Your dog is awesome!
We absolutely love being outdoors and are just a little bit north of you!

I bet that's amazing Gold country!

He is indeed, most of the time...
Not much gold up here but I have friends that pan at a bit lower elevations. I bought a pan but I have yet to join them.
Being outdoors is the best! Quill and I got out again for another xc ski this morning. So much snow still out there, we'll be skiing for a bit longer before we can start hiking the trails.
Quill says hi to your pup. Cheers!

That's awesome... And high up you dry Pam looking for flakes and recording locations. But look for stripes of white quartz or red rose quartz. You might find a vein! Especially if you are looking with drones as well.

Excuses to be in nature more! Lol!

Totally should let the dogs play one day! @woodathegsd has his own profile. And trading and diesel pool investments.

Ha! Nice, I gave @woodathegsd a follow. For now, I still use Quill to get my account a little extra attention, lol.
I'll have to watch some youtube panning videos again, re-motivate. Any time your in the area, let me know and I would love to meet up with the dogs!
