Shot This Morning At Donner Lake
Finally... I did not have to clear any snow in my driveway this morning! So I set the alarm clock for 4:30 am and made it out for a sunrise at Donner Lake in Truckee, California.
It was predicted to be a nice one so I picked a spot looking to the east, toward the sunrise. It was an OK scene. But then, the colors behind me, looking to the west, stole the show with beautiful pastel pinks and blues!
I may end up working on some of the other photos but this shot was my favorite:
Taken with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens, set at 32mm. A tripod was used and the 2-second timer with mirror lock-up was used. No lens filters were needed, it was well balanced light looking to the west.
Oh, you can see I have a flash on my camera in the selfie below. It was not used for the photo above. I had been using it earlier when things were looking much darker out.
Thank you for looking and I hope you all have a photogenic day!
