Fun Times In LA
My wife and I recently got back from a short trip to LA. We had a lot of fun visiting family including our son @enak. We also had a lot of fun at an event my wife really wanted to attend. She has been a super-fan of the Mark and Brian radio show for a long time. The show is long over but Mark still hosts a podcast that is played often in our house. He wrote a book about all the good times they had during the radio show years, this was a big book release party/concert/variety show.
Here's more info about the show for anyone interested: ‘Mark and Brian Show’ DJ Mark Thompson revisits the KLOS-FM years in new book. Some of the acts included musician John Waite, singer Gino Vannelli, and legend Donny Osmond. Donny Osmond was way more entertaining than I expected, and I now hope to catch his Las Vegas show sometime. Ha! Who'd of thought...
I only had my Samsung S22+ phone, not the Canon. But I've got to say, I've been pretty impressed with this phone's low-light camera capabilities. It's certainly not an interchangeable lens camera, but with a little photoshop work, the images look great!
Ok, I'll admit I was bummed about the situation below. One of the reasons I was really looking forward to this show was that actor Billy Bob Thornton was supposed to read us ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. He got the covid though and pulled a no-show. Mark read us the story instead. It was nice and all, but it wasn't Billy Bob... I was hoping he would read it to us in a Sling Blade voice or dressed as Bad Santa. Oh well. And congratulations to Mark and Brian on the book release! 100% of the proceeds will be going to animal rescue. Book Info here.
Thanks for looking and I hope all of you have been doing great!

As someone who used to live in LA (now Riverside CA), it is nice to hear what's going on there. Sounds like a great concert!
Happy to share! LA born and raised but haven't lived there for about 20 years now. Cheers!
Looks like a fun night. I recently watched Billy Bob in Goliath. He is always entertaining. My Donny Osmond moment (when I was able to look beyond Donny and Marie and the 70s) was seeing him in Joseph and the Amzing Technicolor Coat.
Ha! Both shows sound fun. Again, I was incredibly bummed about Billy Bob not showing. It was something I had been looking forward to since the tickets were purchased. Oh well. Cheers!
i have the samsun s21 ultra and i can tell you that this camera really does miracles with the photos but the VIDEO is better!! i loved the quality!
Yup! The video it great too. In the past for or real estate videos, I used a DSLR and a heavy stabilizer for the camera. Now I just use the phone for the walkthrough videos and it is better quality! Wider angle too, and more stable. I still use the DSLR for the photos though... Cheers!
Hmm, attending shows like this can be fun, so sorry you didn't get to hear Billy's voice but then it was still fine.
The photos are not bad at all, they look really beautiful and cool since it was evening, it looked even cooler, hehehe.
Might have to watch Bad Santato make up for it...
Thanks! The phone cameras are pretty amazing these days. Cheers!
Hahaha, that's really funny, bad Santa! It sounds like fun and compensating, hehehe.
I totally agree with on that, the phone cameras have really beautiful outcomes these days and it's easy to go anywhere with them too.
Bad Santa is a classic, for sure.
Definitely easier!
Yeah it is!
