Freewrite Tuesday Prompt: Funeral
lofi-defi hiphop mixtape and blockchain podcast saved my sanity,
on my journey to my Uncle's Funeral this year,
this is what it looks like, just before we fall...
we were there when this soul, passed on
to the great unknown, and now we are packin to your Funeral
bittersweet memories nibble anyway at my brain,
Pineapple Trulys, blunts & Childish Gambino,
keep the demons at bay, ok ok ok
I have been here before, up and down the coast
life afterlife, death after death,
it was my great-grandma, who taught me how to die
I was 13, and I double back for my book
and then she was gone, it was cold, empty
The only thing that remains is the memories
The weight, The weight we feel is love
deep painful love, that echo into eternity
we are only shadows of moments of reality
sparks in networks of memories and feelings
I had this sudden overwhelming to cook,
and my comfort food this Thai, MPK4LIFE
I had to drive to 3 markets for products,
spokane valley, yup we, were inline to check out
when we got the call, we felt it before it rang
we drove back to the cold, empty room
I pulled out the boards, lit the borns,
washed some rice and began to chop...
The music runs strong in this poem! Unconventional, but full of emotions and scenes to relate to. I liked it a lot, thank you for sharing!
