A FANTASY FOR A WEEK

I like movies. Especially comedy, horror and fantasy with a little bit of rom-com.

A week ago, my friemd introduced me to a movie. He didn't give me much details about it. All he said was that it is a fantasy movie and I will really learn a lot from it.
After telling me where to get it, I got it and started watching.
Initially, I didn't know it was Korean. I can't really tell the difference between Japanese, Chinese, Korean or Malaysian people because they all look the same to me. Even their languages sound so alike. Because of this, I didn't care about which country it came from as long as I could enjoyed it and learned from it. 😁😁

The title - "The Tale of The Nine Tailed"

The movie is about a fox who lives is in the form of a young man, whose name is Yeon.This man was once a fearless and strong mountain spirit; also guardian of the mountain.

He fell in love with a young human lady who was his friend right from when she was a 9 -year old girl. Beacause he is immortal, he watched her grow up from childhood to a beautiful young lady.

Along the line, she died and he made her promise him to reincarnate so he would find her and they could both continue their love. In order for him to find her when she reincarnated, he gave up his position as the great mountain spirit to work for the sister of hades (the master of the underworld) in helping her punish with death those other foxes (all living in human form but change to foxes when they want to eat or kill) who commit wicked acts on humans.

He kept on doing this work of his until he came in contact with a TV news reporter who was investigating a crime scene (who this Yeon was responsible for).

He went to kill a fox (woman) who had killed many humans in the past and now she fell in love with a human man and they were going to get married on this same day when Yeon was sent to punish her for all the wrongs she had done.

The reporter was so intelligent and she was able to narrow the crime down to this Yeon. Although he let her catch him and that's where the twist began.

Yeon kept on searching for his reincarnated love all this while for over 500 years. During this time, he found a number of women who looked a lot like her but none of them were her. Some of them he watched as they grew old and died making him have lesser value for people and didn't have any friends except his personal assistant, another fox (young man) whom he loved so much though never showed it.

It was during his search that he collided with the reporter investigating a case he was responsible for and guess what? The reporter is the carbon-copy of his long dead love whom he hoped had reincarnated. Her smiles, voice and everything reminded him of her....

There is still a lot to the story - suspense, mystery, sorrow and horror but I wouldn't go into all of that in this article.

It was when I watched the first episode amd it was like the movie was incomplete that was when I found out it comes in series and it is Korean. I also realised why a lot of ladies are so crazy about these Korean movies; the men are very good looking. 😅

I learnt so much about intelligence, hope and love from the movie. The movie also portrays the truth about the existence of God, of heaven and of hell who & which some people think are not true.
