Flowers in the rain in my grandmother's garden 🌸

Hello hivers!
Today was a rainy day so I spent most of it inside. When the clouds parted a little and the rain calmed down a bit, I decided to take a walk in my grandmother's garden. I took my mobile phone with me and recorded a few moments. My grandmother loves flowers and has been growing them for a very long time.

This is a rose (Rose) and it is pink in color. I don't understand flowers very well, so don't blame me if I make a mistake. This rose has already passed, and its petals are slowly falling. Here you can also see my dog Simba walking behind. 😁

Antirrhinum majus L., also known as lion's yawn, is a perennial plant from the Plantaginaceae family. The flowers have the shape of a lion's snout, which inspired the folk name "lion's yawn". They prefer sunny places and well-drained soil. In addition to being used as an ornamental plant, sedge is also known to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators, which is beneficial to the garden's ecosystem. This flower is used in folk medicine to treat minor skin irritations and wounds. Yarrow is a grateful plant that adds vibrancy and color to any garden, and its diverse color palette makes it a favorite choice of many gardeners.

Sempervivum tectorum is a succulent plant from the Crassulaceae family, known for its endurance and ability to survive in difficult conditions. It grows naturally in rocky and dry places, often on roofs and walls, hence its name. In gardens, it is used as a ground cover, especially on rock gardens. Sempervivum tectorum has a long tradition of use in folk medicine. The leaves contain juice that is used to treat minor wounds, burns, insect bites and skin irritations. It is considered to have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent properties. The guardian's house is a symbol of protection in many cultures. It was traditionally planted on the roofs of houses to protect against lightning and evil spirits. Its Latin name "Sempervivum" means "always living", which reflects its exceptional resilience and longevity. ❤️

Oenothera biennis is a biennial plant from the Onagraceae family. It is known for its showy yellow flowers that open in the evening and during the night. It blooms from late spring to autumn. The flowers open in the evening and remain open during the night, attracting nocturnal pollinators, especially moths. Evening primrose is known for the oil obtained from its seeds, which is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Evening primrose oil is used in traditional medicine to treat eczema, arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. It is also used to improve skin and hair health. In addition to medicinal purposes, yellow evening primrose is also cultivated as an ornamental plant due to its attractive flowers. The seeds of this plant also serve as food for birds. This is a versatile and useful plant that not only adds beauty to gardens, but also offers significant health benefits and supports the local ecosystem.

And these are some more roses. My grandmother loves roses and they smell wonderful.

Roses are a symbol of love, passion and beauty. Red roses traditionally symbolize love and romance, white roses innocence and purity, yellow friendship and joy, while pink they express gratitude and admiration.

And roses are also known for their thorns. This was a nightmare for every ball I had here, trust me. 😂

Vinca major is an attractive and useful plant that often used in horticulture because of its decorative properties and resistance. However, it is important to follow up its spread so that it does not become invasive and threaten the local flora.

Madame A. Meilland, also known as the "Peace" rose, is one of the most famous and beloved hybrid tea roses in the world.
The name "Peace" was chosen to symbolize hope and resilience after the devastation of World War II. Madame A. Meilland, or the "Peace" rose, is not just a horticultural triumph but also a powerful emblem of peace and reconciliation, cherished by gardeners and rose enthusiasts around the globe.

And these are some other plants that my grandmother keeps in pots. I had a lot of fun today even though it was a rainy day. I learned a lot about these plants and I hope you like them too. 🫶🏻
