Survival of the Fittest
I was reading the article of my friend who just joined Hive. In this article, She talked about how she was able to survive during harsh times and how she started a business out of nothing. But hey,
Isn't that a general Theme?
The word "Survival" is the state by which we continue to exist in difficult circumstances. If you exist under tough or adverse times, then you are a Survivor.
The world is becoming a place for only survivors. You can say the survival of the fittest. But is it meant to be so? Has it always been like that? What do you need to survive?
In this article, I would look into these things. Feel free to share your thoughts and comments.
The term was popularized by Charles Darwin, a Biologist. He suggested that organisms that adjust to the environment are the most surviving and reproducing ones.
According to his theory, He made life seem like a place where we need to adjust to before we can survive. Organisms that have favorable variations might fit better than others.
What does this all mean?
Just like in biology, Survival is the new world order. Technically we have to move pass everyday. With Inflation of goods and services, The Dollar drama and all, It is easy to give up in life.
Organisms that have favorable variations might fit better than others.
Some people are born with a silver spoon and already have all it takes to survive in this world. Maybe not "survive" actually, because they might not understand the difficulties associated with that word.
I think life is meant to be so. It strikes a balance which is healthy. Not everyone can be rich, not everyone should be born rich. We have seen that often times creativity comes from a difficult place.
Problems always begat new innovations. Yes, it might be difficult to always live a life trying to survive however, the tables always turn at some point.
Survival Kit
Food & Water are the basic survival ingredient worldwide. It is something that is required for everyone to live. In the red cross society, A survival kit consist of water and food as the two most important things. With food and water, life is almost certainly guaranteed and where there is life, there is hope.
During my time in school, Food was a serious issue. I always need money or assistance to eat everyday. It was a case of FOOD = CLASS. If I can't eat, I can't study. My survival was very important to me then as I'd always look for a way everyday to eat before doing anything.
It was never easy to cope without food. I tell my friends then that once I get food, I can go to class. It was a case of surviving hunger before being productive.
Everyone has their different kits for survival but generally food, water and shelter are basic necessities we all need. Many people spend their lives with uncertainties of getting these things.
Survival Instinct
This is the ability to know what to do to survive. It is not a problem getting into difficult situations, the real problem comes from not knowing what to do to survive or come out of the situation.
Making Lemonades Out of Lemons
This article shows how she turned her difficult situation around. I'm forced to think that the saying "desperate times call for desperate measures" was said by someone who was in a survival mode.
In Conclusion...
Life in my opinion would always be a survival process. It gets harder and harder as the economy collapses. Things are falling apart, goods and services are sky rocketing in prices. Not everyone would be able to live a comfortable life, we would have to draft our comfort our ourselves, we would have to SURVIVE

I was just reading something in relation to this. If you don't live life, life would leave you. there's no space for sissies as they put it, and you're either strong or weak. Never in-between. You're either a complainer or a problem solver. The art of turning things around? Difficult to master but not impossible.
You just have to choose the one that works for you in these.
It's difficult sometimes but the truth is many people are born with a survival mentality.
I see everything as a challenge and I've learned very early that life is unfair.
Hehehe, learned a new word.
I'd try not be a sissy - ( sounds like 'sisi' in yoruba :)
Anyway, thanks for stopping by @deraaa
It's my pleasure😁
Just like Abraham Maslow said in his hierarchy of needs, these five needs are what we all need to survive in this world and not identifying what you need is a real problem until you find your survival kits to help you come out and survive.
We all must survive to keep going and it's a pity that those who couldn't are the depressed ones who end up committing suicide because they lose hope quickly.
