Anger management: Why I Never Stay Mad at My Mom

avatar

I never stay mad at my mother for long. In fact, I usually get over it before she even knows that I'm upset.

It may seem a little strange, but my mother has a superpower of sorts: the ability to make me not angry. No matter how mad I am at her, she always seems to find a way to make me smile (or at least laugh). And that's why I can never stay mad at her for long.

Of course, my mother isn't perfect – we all have our flaws. But her ability to make me happy is one of the reasons why I love her so much. In a world where it seems like everyone is so angry all the time, it's nice to have someone in your life who can make you smile – even when you're mad as hell.

The Annoyance That Is Anger

Anger is the emotion I feel the most. I feel it all the time, in fact. I'm mad at the world, at my job, at the people who cut me off in traffic. But there's one person I never stay mad at for long – my mom.

There's just something about her that annoys me so much that my anger dissipates pretty quickly. Maybe it's her incessant need to be right, or maybe it's her pathological need to control everything and everyone around her. But whatever it is, it works like a charm every time.

I know I'm not alone in this – everyone has that one person who can make them lose their temper in a matter of seconds, but never stay mad for very long. It's just the way our brains are wired. So the next time you find yourself getting angry at your mom, just remember: it's not her fault, it's biology.

The Different Types of Anger

There are three types of anger:

  1. The first type of anger is good anger. This is the kind of anger that gets us moving – it's the anger that fuels our fight or flight response. It's the anger that makes us want to do something about the situation we're in.

  2. The second type of anger is bad anger. This is the kind of anger that gets us stuck – it's the anger that makes us want to act out, to lash out at whoever or whatever is causing us pain. It's the anger that makes us feel like we're in control.

  3. The third type of anger is helpful anger. This is the kind of anger that heals – it's the anger that allows us to forgive and let go. It's the kind of anger that allows us to get past our hurt and move on.

Anger can be a powerful force, but it's important to learn how to control it. When we learn how to channel our good anger into something positive, we can achieve great things. But when we allow our bad anger to take over, we only end up hurting ourselves and those around us.

The Causes of Anger

I've never been able to stay mad at my mom for very long. It's not that I don't get mad, because I do. I get mad all the time. It's just that my mom is so darn likable that I can never stay mad at her for very long.

There are a few reasons why I can never seem to stay mad at my mom for long. For one, she always has this way of making me feel guilty and like a terrible person. And secondly, she's always forgiven me for anything and everything, no matter what I do (or how many times I do it).

Lastly, my mom is always there for me, no matter what. She's always been there for me, ever since I was born. And even when I'm mad at her, deep down inside I know that she loves me and that she'll always be there for me.

The Many Faces of Anger

Anger is a funny thing. It can flare up in an instant, like a volcano ready to blow, and it can be incredibly destructive. But it can also be incredibly helpful, like when it motivates us to take action.

The thing is, anger is a very personal emotion. What might make me angry might not make you angry at all. For example, I can never stay mad at my mother for long. No matter what she does – or doesn't do – I always seem to forgive her.

Some people might say that's because I have a weak character, but I think it has more to do with the fact that my mother is a master of manipulation. She knows just how to push my buttons and get me to calm down. And that's why I can never stay mad at her for long.

How to Get Rid of Anger

Video by Dr. Christian Conte

It's not that I never get mad at my mother – I do, frequently. But I never stay mad at her for long. Here's why:

First, I know that my mother loves me and would never deliberately hurt me. Second, getting mad doesn't actually solve anything. And third, I value our relationship too much to let anger come between us.

These three things keep me from staying mad at my mother for very long. And even though it can be frustrating to deal with her sometimes, I know that it's worth it because of the deep bond we share.

Conclusion

I never stay mad at my mom for very long because it's just not worth it. Sure, she drives me crazy sometimes, but it's ultimately not her fault. Blowing up at her isn't going to change anything, and it's just going to make me feel worse in the long run.

I know that I can always count on my mom to forgive me, no matter what I do wrong. That's why I never stay mad at her for very long. We might fight, but in the end we always make up.

It seems love is more powerful than anger, because of the strong love your mom has for you and you her, that's why am you can't stay mad at her, it's the same for most people.

I learnt new stuff, good, bad and helpful anger.

Thanks for the enlightenment.

Our mothers can really make us angry at them but we should know it is not their fault but the way it has been wired to be. I love the types of anger you explained and you made me come across something interesting in your post. Thanks for sharing your entry. I came through Dreemport.
