Humble
The Holy Week is supposed to be humble and "quiet", therefore our lunch table yesterday was humble... And nutritious.
Humble lentil soup...
For the soup: I wash the lentils under running water and boil them for around five minutes. I drain that water and give them a good rinse before putting them back in the pot to continue cooking. In boiling water I add the lentils, chopped onion, one clove of garlic, one or two sliced carrots (sometimes I may use it grated and not sliced), tomato sauce or fresh grated tomatoes, olive oil, salt, oregano, smoked paprika, one bay leaf and a little mustard (that according to Trumpman 's mom reduces the "gas effect" of legumes). I serve with some apple cider vinegar on top.
Humble salad...
Just some cucumber, olives and pickled green peppers.
Humble bread...
White bread from the bakery.
I also made my tsourekia buns!! They are ready to be gifted to some loved ones and some are already in the freezer to be consumed over the months to come. I'm showing you those later.
My Easter candles are ready as well, they are nicely wrapped and waiting to be given away tomorrow. I love to keep this tradition of mine and make Easter candles for my family and friends. Hopefully, once Little Man grows a bit more, we'll get to make them together, they will be even more beautiful then!!
As for the eggs, I am not painting any this year either as my mum do the messy work again and save me from the trouble of running around with a two-year-old trying to keep him away from the red dye or cracking eggs. Next year though, I may be bold enough to experiment with him and paint some together. We'll see...

This is looking very yummy
I wish you could teach us how you made it.
It looks good
Humble but a very hearty food lentil soup. I’m quite sure everything you’ve made was terrific.
