In the Garden: A Place for New Discoveries and a Perfect Place to Take a Rest
Murdering a plant should be a crime too, no? So that when we see a very good fruit being cut down, we have the right to sue them. All I can do now is be a bad guy and wish that a lot of big ants would visit this man's bed later and feast on his feet, (≧▽≦).
Do you remember the papaya tree I shared here about being cut down by our neighbor? The one who had already reaped a bountiful harvest but was mercilessly murdered by this man. If you had no idea about it, you can read that here. I really thought that at that time, it would really start to grow again. But then, for the second time, it was cut down again by the same villain.
To be honest, I don't visit the part where that papaya tree was planted. But in our window, I can see it. And, seeing that it has fruits already, I thought it would really grow. But unfortunately, it didn't happen.
It's Saturday, so I decided to spend a little time on my phone, just to limit my screentime. I even took a nap this afternoon. I mean, it's the weekend, so we deserve a rest, and you too. Even our phones need a rest too, and so do our eyes. After napping for 30 minutes, I just took a bath, then I went with Mom to the market, he needed a battery replacement for his watch, but sadly, it's Saturday, and this day is also a rest day for them. They are closed today, so we will just come back tomorrow.
So we go home, and then I just walk directly to where the garage is. I plan to have a walk in there, just walking back and forth as a little exercise for me. But then, I got bored doing it over and over, so I just stopped and looked around my surroundings. This is what I always do whenever I want to find something to do. Then I noticed these newly planted plants in Mom's old basin. It is "tanglad," or lemongrass, to everyone. Actually, this came from Aunt Velyn and was delivered here by her, again.
Mommy D tried a lot of times to replant this lemongrass in our garden, but it just always died. I am really not knowledgeable when it comes to gardening, so I don't know what's other reason why they die. But there is one thing I know, at some point, it dies, but not always in a natural way. One time I caught this creature playing with the lemongrass. And it is not just me who saw it, Mommy D didn't know about that though (≧▽≦), lol.
And who's the culprit? You might be wondering (☞^o^) ☞ here! It's him, lol. That innocent-looking cat who loves to murder Mom's plant. And he is not alone on this because he has an accomplice. Yes, yes, you read it right, lol. If Mommy D finds out about it, she will surely react to it, lol. She'll gone mad for sure.
Anyway, moving on, I didn't just stay in our small garage because my eyes were still looking for more. So I go down to where my mama's house is. I planned to also check her little garden in there too, yes, she has her own garden, some knows that already. And I call it mine too, because, why not? I'm her daughter too, lol. But imagine my surprise when I see these bushes of plants here. Mama is not the owner of this one though.
I asked Mama if she planted it, but she said no. She also told me that it was actually planted by the old couple, the one that has been living with us for months now. You can also see their little "Bahay kubo" in the picture. Would you believe that it was built by a 75 year old man?
Let me just share this photo I took when he was just starting to build their cute house. It was made with wood and coconut leaves. And he built them alone. Amazing no? Well, he really has experience building a house, but for his age, I'm amazed at how he still had the energy to do that, even climbing just to put a roof on it.
Anyway, it was her wife who planted these plants here. It is Taro ang Squash, I'm not sure about the second one. It really has big leaves, and they also have a papaya. It's amazing how they are so full of energy to do this and that. Unlike me, who's very, ehermm. I think the old woman has a plan to sell those plants once they bear fruit. She sells veggies and fruits, and she is walking a distance just to sell them everywhere. She will just put it in a big basin and carry it around. Seriously, she is really awesome, they both are. Truly, a garden is really to discoveries as you can discover a new plants on that place.
I was standing where the old couple's plants were when I noticed this already dying papaya tree that I shared before. I thought there was still hope for it, but, as you can see, it only looks good when zoomed in, but they are actually very tiny. In the human body, they are so malnourished! It's really sad seeing it because I saw it before with a lot of fruits in it, but now, ರ_ರ.
Why do trees have to suffer from man's cruelty? Why just don't let them grow and be happy with their fruits?
Can we see this as a new hope? With these few leaves left on it and with those malnourished fruits it has, What a sad tree you are ಥ_ಥ.
And just to feel better, I move to the other side of our yard to see the other papaya we have. This is the second to grow before this already dying Papaya Tree, but it is still growing and still giving us delicious food. And what did it take for it to grow like that? Mommy D loves to talk to it like a kid, and just like how she take good care of a kid, that is also how she is to this tree.
Your papaya plant are big, so delicious.
They are delicious, my oldies are enjoying the fruits now hehe.
Cats are adorable and at the same time playful😅
So true, but we love them even though they are like that (≧▽≦)
I am enchanted by your mother, as you treat your plants. I want such a fertile garden, but my land is very arid.
Hehe, plants js really beautiful, so we must treat them with lot of care. Aww, that's sad, I'm not really sure ehat to say, so you don't have a garden?
I don't have fruit plants, I have very few in pots to decorate.
Although I have a large patio, the soil is very arid and I don't have abundant water to maintain them, that's why when I see other beautiful gardens I fall in love hehehe.
I feel pity for suffering plants as well. They are ALIVE. if we don't see red blood, it doesn't mean they don't feel pain..
A great house and really a great builder! I deeply respect people who can use their hands and do something great by them.
Right, some people just don't care and it's really sad.
Same here respect to those kind of people (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
Nice. I !LUV papaya. Nakaka-inspire. I might just plant some papaya trees in our back yard. We used to have them in the "old" house where I grew up. It gave us lots of papaya my Tita Mama used in here cooking adventures. The ones that ripened also did not escape us. 😎
