Fun Shopping Time With The Oldies: Exploring and Checking Every Corner of the Supermarket

Fun_20241021_142522_0000.png

It's really been a long time since we last shopped in the supermarket in Xentro Mall, Calapan. Mom dragged us there because she wants to buy toothpaste and some biscuits. So, even without cash and even though I know I'll be tempted to buy something in there, I let Mom drag me there - just to end up carrying everything. Lolol. But you know, because my hand is full, I successfully stop myself from cashing out some money, saved! Lol.

We immediately dive in to shop for what we need. The first stop is in the toothpaste corner. There's a lot of brands of toothpaste in here in the Philippines, so Mom is having a hard time, lol. But we usually have Close Up toothpaste because that's cheaper. But Mom kinda feels like a millionaire that day, that she got an expensive one - just kidding. Haha.

She actually got the expensive one because she's experiencing toothache. So she just grabbed what she thinks will be more effective for her. She got Sensodyne, but seriously, it's price for a 100 gram is already a price for the 175 gram of my toothpaste, which is close up ( ꈍᴗꈍ). Still, it's mom's money, so it's okay. I tried Sensodyne before, but I don't like it, it's not as fun to use as my current toothpaste, which is more foamy than that, lol.

So we continue walking around, checking every shelf. There are a lot of people doing their grocery shopping here. I also tried to compare their products price to the price in our city, and they are a little cheaper by cents. If you'll shop a lot of things, those cents can actually be a big thing, right? And you know, I don't know about you, but it really hit different when we shop in a mall than in some shops. It's just a cool experience, so we grabbed that chance to have a shopping spree here. Although we only just picked a few things, lol, still what an experience!

So we're on a biscuit corner now. Mom is looking for a particular cracker with flavors. She wants onion and garlic flavor, as for me, I prefer onion flavor. But it's too salty. I reminded Mom about the level of its saltiness, but she doesn't listen to me. She said it was just right. Arguing with Mom can be a pain in the neck, so I just leave her.

I just really hope she doesn't complain later while experiencing abdominal pain! You know, it's like, I am being a mom to my mom now, and she is sometimes acting like a kid. Our role got switched, lol. But compared to her, during my teen, I am not as hardheaded as her (≧▽≦), i'm just slightly one while she's on another level, aigooooo (⊙_◎).

Anyways, after picking up Mom's crackers, I decided to go on a separate way as I wanted to check on something. It's in the pet corner! And while checking their price, I can't help but compare it to the human foods, lol. They are really more expensive. And I am so glad that there are a lot of people who're willing to spend that much for their lovely pets. Well, just like Mom. Ehe. It's sad because I don't have money. If only I could bring some treats for our cats (⊙_◎).

So we also stop by the snack corner. And I picked two big junkfoods for our kidney, lolol. We don't eat this that often though, just rarely. So we indulged our wants and grabbed some of it too. Mama grabbed the same things, these two are her favorites, actually.

Chips are good too. I want to have some Pringles, only if I'm not carrying something on my hand will I really grab one. It's a good thing I'm holding something in my hand—errr, I mean, well, I can just have them next time, yep, next time (ꈍᴗꈍ).

We also get some canned goods, Mom got her favorite San Marino corned tuna and Saba mackerel. The big version.

And because the basket is getting heavier na, i pass it on to Mama because I'm still afraid to carry heavy things because of my nose.

We just continue walking around, checking every shelf. We see different kinds of noodles in one corner, and I can't help but get amazed because of the number of brands. I never really tried any of them aside from the local noodles. How about you? Any noodles here you are familiar with?

And here's what we got after strolling in that big supermarket, lol. It's not that much, but Mom still had to pay almost $20 for everything. Like whoa! Inflation is effing real!

So it's paying time! We just asked Mama to take care of the bills in the cashier while Mommy F was handing the money. We waited for her in the corner while she was paying. After that, we got out and looked for a bench where we could rest our tired legs, lol. Well, we had a walk inside for more than an hour, lol. It's a good thing it's cold inside because if not, we won't last an hour inside. ┏(^0^)┛

Haha, right, they are hard to understand sometimes.

Yes, and we are all affected here sad to say. The toothpaste is so pricey, same with the canned goods.

What toothpaste is it? I'm curious, what brand.

I love going on grocery tours, maybe because I'm already over 30? LOL. It's fun to see what new things there are, and even though sometimes you don't want to buy anything, there's always a new need.

Thanks for sharing your day on Daily Blog, I hope you had fun 😃.

Magastos kasi kapag nag gogrocery ako, yung good for 2 weeks dapat nauubos lang in just a few days nung kapatid ko. Kaya pinapabili ko na lang siya sa may tindahan kung anong kaylangan haha
