MY ENTRY TO THE RAGNAROK LOGO CONTEST

After coming across this contest I was reluctant to participate as I am still a newbie in the Graphic Design world. I finally decided to give this contest a trial. The name RAGNAROK which means "Doom of the gods" in Scandinavia Mythology inspired me to watch the Thor Ragnarok movie (before now I haven't seen it) and also mortal combat with the game.

After which I got inspired to sketch the look I wanted the logo to have.

I downloaded files(war or fighting files) since the Ragnarok game was all about a fight.

I began the creation. I started by placing the files the way I wanted them to be in photoshop, I went ahead to give it some details, to be easily understood.

Though it looks simple which it isn't, these details help to give it a creative meaning.

Details like the spartan helmet replacing the letter O in Ragnarok, the blood splatter showing that blood was spilled during the fight using the sword, the font was manipulated also to give that small fighting knife idea, then the word CARNAGE meaning death and destruction

The big letter R has some knives manipulated in it also with a bloodstain. This is how my inspiration came and am glad I perfected it that way.

I ensured the design was correctly aligned.

So technically the brand color is white and red. Here is the design in different colors.
