They Keep Telling Us What They Will Do, Believe Them

Sometime last year I started seeing a narrative going around that farmers were complaining about being forced to destroy crops. Now I didn't have any way to confirm if this was actually happening or if it was a normal demand made by the government for unknown reasons, but it was making the rounds.

Then inflation started to really kick in along with rising gas prices. More SNS(Social Networking Sites) posts of farmers warning of a coming shock in prices and yield. Ok, this made sense as it's simple math no conspiracy theory needed.

Then the Ukraine war started. Farmers are now posting that between fertilizer prices, fuel prices and lack of access to fertilizer is going to cause massive disruption in food come this fall.

Part of me was still on the fence about if this could really happen, then our benevolent, altruistic overlords confirmed it all. From the World Economic Forum:

"We are currently witnessing the beginning of a global food crisis, driven by the knock-on effects of a pandemic and more recently the rise in fuel prices and the conflict in Ukraine. There were already clear logistical issues with moving grain and food around the globe, which will now be considerably worse as a result of the war. But a more subtle relationship sits with the link to the nutrients needed to drive high crop yields and quality worldwide. "

So, lockdown the world and enforce draconian mandates for a flu. Then start destroying your energy industry because we're building back better. What could go wrong?

Of course the people pushing all of this aren't subject to any these rules and restrictions. They live in mansions, jet around the world on private planes, vacation on their yachts and dine of the best food money can buy. Meanwhile they tell you to "Eat the bugs you carbon excreting extremist!"

Just in case you don't believe the WEF...

Ok now I am 100% on board with the "Fall is going to see food shortages globally" narrative. So I am stocking up on canned goods and dried goods like spaghetti & rice and maybe.... lentils.

Good post!

A close relative of mine works for Agriculture and Agri-food Canada (federal department) and she's been telling me about her office sending farmers in Canada more money than usual in the last 3 or 4 years.

Apparently some farmers are being incentivized to NOT farm. I have no proof other than her stories but she has no reason to lie or anything.

Last year, I saw an amateur video of hundreds of healthy chicken being killed (at a farm not far from Ottawa) because the processing plant was closed - due to covid - and no one was able to process the birds.

In the video, the farmer was also complaining that these plants have been getting shut down for no good reason for years which meant that all the animals in the province were being processed in only 1 or 2 plants. This obviously caused all sorts of problems and being forced to shut down because of some "pandemic" made it worse...

All of that to say, I think you're on to something here.

Think of the effect lower farm yields will have on livestock. Seems like smaller, decentralized slaughter houses might be a business opportunity.

I know some farms are subsidized by the government, I just don't know the details of those deals. You can bet though the government will screw everything up.
