Jetlag's A Bitch Then You Die
Well, it's that time of year again when I have flown 6,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean back to California to buy, work & work. Honestly it's not so bad to have a change of things, but the jetlag sucks. It's never easy to get over and sometimes it's painful to deal with.
I woke up at 2am today after going to sleep at about 9:30pm. When I got up one of the first things I wanted was a coffee, but nothing is open 24hours anymore in So. Cal. So I had to wait until 4am to ge my fix.
With caffine blazing through my blood clotless veins I surfed some HIVE. 20% APR on HBD sounds nice, until you factor in real world inflation basically is eating that up. I mean I went to the gas station yesterday and gas is &^$#@ $5.79! I know Europeans and Japanese would consider that a deal, but a little over a year ago it was under $4. It's a big deal because in California you have to drive fairly long distances to go anywhere. Worse for me in order to get out into the deserts and mountains my fuel bills are gonna be brutal. Looks like I have to cut back on over priced coffee and processed garbage we call food. Maybe it's a win for my health!?
Traveling was strange. While Haneda airport was still a ghost town, my flight was packed. It was a connecting flight from somewhere in Asia going to Los Angeles via Tokyo.
I was shocked when I got to the ticket counter and was made to sign an attestation form. When I looked at it and it said I had to agree to get vaxxed 60 days after entering the US I told the airline I would not sign it.
They then told me I didn't need to fill out that portion or any other except for the first part asking me if I was vaxxed. I breathed a bit easier and continued the check in. Oh, and I forgot to mention, traveling to the US from Japan now requires you to take your PCR test 1 day before you depart. There were 3 guys next to me at the ticket counter who were still on the 3 days schedule and were told their tests were too old and they couldn't board. They panicked and tried to go get a test in the airport. Didn't see them on the flight so I'm guessing they weren't able to get the test.
So I'm back in the states. Looking to travel up to Utah, maybe AZ and all over California collecting minerals and enjoying the scenery. I still have lots of pictures and stories to share about the past 2 months in Tokyo so I'll be adding those into the travel mix while I'm in Cali. I hope you'll stop by for those posts and maybe even leave a comment. Until then, jetlag's a bitch....
