THE NEW MARKET ROAD
MY MOBILE NETWORK PROVIDER.
I have a lot to write about this wonderful road. One of the major problem we have in Nigeria is power supply, this is generic to both rural and urban areas. The next problem is Mobile Network challenge in some rural areas.
These two are my major challenges right here and now. As a Content Creator, or as online Activist power supply and network has really been a challenge to me because of where I currently live.
Most of the times, I walk through this road, because this is the only place I can get a better network connection in this area, and I spent time there using the Internet.
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ROAD.
The Road is located in a small town called Otuoke, in Ogbia local government area in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
It is about a twelve minutes walk way. The Road is called THE NEW MARKET ROAD because it leads to the newly constructed Otuoke market.
This market is a weekly market, they operate only on Tuesday. I have been there once to buy some food stuffs for myself. And the sellers I think they are majorly from the community.
NOW IMAGINE WALKING ALONG THIS ROAD BETWEEN 9:00PM THEREABOUT.
Well, I have walked through this road at about 10:30pm all alone. I know someone will be like, OMG! I dare not, yeah, majority will be scared to take that action because of fear. I have personally dealt with fear. I have nothing to fear about.
The road is surrounded both left and right hand side with thick forest. I remembered walking here one evening that was around 7:30pm with a friend of mine, Dear Lord, this person was really really scared. I had to keep on quoting Psalm 23 for the person all through the journey. Just to keep her bold while we walk along.
Look at that beautiful risng sun.
Aside me using this road for my network connection, another beautiful thing I do along this road is my early morning exercise and sometimes in the evening since no one walks here, I walk along just to pray, because I enjoy praying in an open or quite environment.
Most of the villagers have their Farm land either inside the forest, or beside the road. Some of the crops they plant is either Cassava or plantain with some palm tree.
First time I walked through this road, what gave me some boldness, is that house over there. I have some confidence that I will soon get to an opening where the torment of fear will be paralysed.
IN CONCLUSION
I hope that one day, the Federal Government of the state will look into the network situation in this area, and also help to restore power supply in this community. Because I have been here for almost four years, electricity has been a major challenge for everyone here.

That is a pretty long road to walk alone. I will admit I wouldn’t be the one walking at night by myself hardly anywhere these days. I can imagine how frustrating that power issue is. Especially since you use the internet often and depend on having a good connection. I hope steps are made toward making this better and more sufficient for your community.

That road really looks scary coupled with the power issue in the Community. You sure are brave enough to walk through that road and live above the power issues in the Community.
