MCGI MASS INDOCTRINATION DAY 4 | APRIL 21, 2022

Thanks be to God my Fellow Brethren in Christ. I thank God specially for giving us another opportunity to study the words of God through His servant Brother Eli. This has always helped me grow spiritually. And I encourage us to continue striving for the faith and also encourage one another with love.

We continued on the subject of Prayer as it is a very important doctrine of Christ. God wants us to know how to communicate with Him, so we can get answers to our prayers, and not just pray amiss. Alot of God's children all over the world prayed, but only a few get answers to their prayers.

HERE IS A FEW FROM THE ABUNDANCE I LEARNED.

• Prayer has content: we don't just pray because we love talking, or because we are bored, there should be a definite reason on why we pray, this is according to what the scripture teaches us.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6 KJV

• A prayer is making a definite request or a petition to God, it is not telling stories, because God already know all what you need.
• When praying, it is important we make our request coupled with thanksgiving, this is one of the best way to pray.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Mark 11:24 KJV

• Believe: A lot of God's children pray, but they don't believe that what they ask or request has been granted them. So they went on and on asking for the same thing again. That is unbelieve. And an unbeliever will not receive answers to their prayers. When you pray, just believe that it is done unto you and move on.
• In whatever we find ourselves doing, it is important we give priority to prayer. Before eating, before sleeping, when we wake up, before going out, when we come back etc. We should give first place to prayer. We should make prayer our life style.
  Jesus shows us an example in Matthew 15:36

WHEN SHOULD I PRAY?

Make your life a prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 TPT

Another translation says;

Never stop praying.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT

Another says;

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
1 Thessalonians 5:16‭-‬18 MSG

• Prayer should be our way of life, in anything and whatever thing we are doing. There are people who do not live a prayerful life. We should not be like them. We should pray day and night, none stop!
• God knows how to understand and He also knows how to listen to prayers.

HOW CAN WE BE SURE THAT OUR PRAYERS WILL BE HEARD BY GOD?

• For our prayers to be heard by God, it should be done with a pure heart.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2:22 KJV

What is the meaning of a pure heart?

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
Acts 24:16 KJV

A pure heart is a heart that has a clean conscience towards men and God.

• When you pray with bitterness, hatred, malice, you are nursing grudges against your fellow man, and your prayers will not be answered.

• As for those that are married, I leant that before the man prays, he should give honor to his wife, and not hurt her. The prayers of a man are often hindered when a man dishonour his wife, and same applies to a woman, if she disrespect her husband, her prayers are hindered.

• God listen to a man who has no evil going through his heart.

We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but only to godly people who do his will.
John 9:31 TPT

HOW CAN OUR HEART BE CLEANSED?

The words I have spoken over you have already cleansed you.
John 15:3 TPT

Jesus said those words, our heart can be cleanse through the word of God.

• The Word of God purifies, but for it to purify, you have to receive it and let it in. We have to put it in our heart.

You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth...
1 Peter 1:22 NLT

• The purification is in obeying the Word of God.
  So you receive it in your heart and obey it.

• Furthermore, we should depart from iniquities.
  See Galatians 5: 19- 21

• When the heart is good, the mouth will speak forth goodness. If your heart is pure, your mouth will so be pure.

• Your speech should be yes, if it is yes, and no if it is no. Always be truthful.

It is different when you have a God you can depend on in life, in times of trouble He will not forsake you.

• Control your tongue from evil, hypocrisy, lies. Always speak the truth.
