CRAZY TEENAGERS!

We sat outside with the family elders on chilly evenings, sitting beneath the feet of men and women who had travelled the journey before us, their scars and caps all sharing a picture of the life that wasn't always a bed of flowers. One of them would call me privately in his room and speak to me calmly, saying;

Possible, you see this stage you're into, it is a very delicate one. Where every teenager would want to explore life and know what is up there. At this stage, you've got to be very careful with your life. Don't get distracted by the beauty that comes your way. You have a long way to go.

We went periwinkle-picking along the riverbanks in search of mudskipper fish. Other times we hunt hunting for some Bush rat.

Our Instagram was the nighttime stories of adventure, battle, and love growing up in the 1990s when social media wasn't what it is now. Mom, literature, history, and science buff instilled in me a voracious appetite for literature.

Technology is beautiful, and social media can be a vehicle for advancement, but it can also be a dangerous sea full of sharks and crabs. A young teenager may be swimming with beautiful profiles, unaware that they are pimple-ridden faces hidden behind filters, or beautiful, well-edited, and sometimes make-up-free faces.

Today's young teenagers live in a completely different world, which is changing at a breakneck pace! Picking sex techniques they've never heard of, demonstrating their current sex expertise and their voracious thirst for clicks and likes from their imaginary fans online, all with their parents' blessing.

I've been on social media for quite some time, and have met the good, terrible, and ugly, but I'm intentional in using social media for a positive social change, which is not the case for many who live on a fantasy island world.

Our so-called modern youngsters, who are pampered and tantalized, grow up not knowing that harsh times made strong men, but they do grow up with the idea that they are catching cruises.

It is vital for your children not to suffer as you did, but it is much more necessary for them to learn from your mistakes so that they do not suffer as you did.

Moreover, we may not be able to caution them from dating or being in a relationship, but we have to reveal to them and guide them on what they need to know.

I have personally experienced a lot of things in life, which I wouldn't want my children to go through that line. Setting up the pace for the young ones is my priority and something I call out for every one of us to take.

Life would be much better if we can work on these young ones becoming something better than us. We all have a responsibility to play, and that is making this world a better place than we met it. Remember, every child is your child!

Definitely, I wouldn't want my children to go through the same experience I went through.

I won't be weary or tired of teaching them that which needs to be taught.

Nice one. It is very important to help them scale through the huddle.
