Roses with Toilet Paper Rolls ǀ Rosas con Rollos de Papel Higiénico
Blessed week, DIYHub! I send you positive vibes. Today I want to share with you a craft made with cardboard from toilet paper rolls. It's about some pretty roses. Let's take a look at the materials and the step by step.
¡Bendecida semana, DIYHub! Les envío vibras positivas. Hoy deseo compartir con ustedes una manualidad realizada con cartón de rollos de papel higiénico. Se trata de unas lindas rosas. Vamos a ver los materiales y el paso a paso.
We will need / Vamos a necesitar:
- Toilet paper rolls / Rollos de papel Higiénico
- Red, pink or fucsia paint and brush / Pintura rosada, roja o fucsia y pincel
- Liquid silicon, white glue and scissors / Silicón líquido, pega blanca y tijeras
- Skewered sticks / Palitos para pinchos
Start by cutting the roll in half, fold and cut again until you have two equal pieces.
Iniciamos cortando el rollo a la mitad, doblamos y cortamos nuevamente hasta conseguir dos piezas iguales.
We take a template in the shape of an 8-petal flower, mark it on the cardboard, and then cut it out.
Tomamos una plantilla con forma de flor de 8 pétalos, marcamos sobre el cartón, y luego recortamos.
We make transverse marks on the petals as shown in the image. We will need 4 pieces like this.
Hacemos marcas trasversales en los pétalos como se ve en la imagen. Vamos a necesitar 4 piezas como estas.
We proceed to make cuts in the pieces as follows: On one of the pieces we remove one petal, on another we remove 2 petals, on another we remove 3 petals and the last one we cut in half. We also keep one piece with two petals and one with 3 petals that resulted from the previous cuts.
Procedemos a hacer cortes en las piezas de la siguiente manera: En una de las piezas eliminamos un pétalo, en otra eliminamos 2 pétalos, en otra eliminamos 3 pétalos y la última la cortamos a la mitad. Mantenemos también una pieza de dos pétalos y una de 3 pétalos que resultaron de los cortes anteriores.
With the exception of the piece with two petals, we are going to glue the outer petals of each of the pieces we have with silicone, as shown in the image. We can help ourselves with a hanger.
A excepción de la pieza de dos pétalos, vamos a pegar con silicón los pétalos exteriores entre sí de cada una de las piezas que tenemos, como se ve en la imagen. Nos podemos ayudar con un gancho o pinza.
We will be left with 6 pieces in this way, which we will proceed to paint in fuchsia, in this case. We will need to apply two coats of paint.
Nos van a quedar 6 piezas de esta manera que procederemos a pintar de color fucsia, en este caso. Vamos a necesitar dar dos manos de pintura.
With the help of a skewer stick we will bend outwards the edges of the petals to give a curved shape to our pieces.
Con al ayuda de un palito para pinchos vamos a hacer un doblez hacia afuera en los bordes de los pétalos para dar una forma curvada a nuestras piezas.
We are now ready to assemble the rose. We start by rolling the two-petal piece with a stick. We secure it by gluing the piece with silicone to the stick that will serve as the branch of our flower. We make a cut at the bottom of the rest of the pieces and begin to place them overlapping in order of size, from smallest to largest, securing with liquid silicone.
Estamos listos para armar la rosa. Iniciamos enrollando la pieza de dos pétalos con un palito. Aseguramos pegando la pieza con silicón al palito que servirá como rama de nuestra flor. Hacemos un corte en la parte inferior del resto de las piezas y comenzamos a colocarlas superponiendo en orden de tamaño, de menor a mayor, asegurando con silicón líquido.
It only remains to varnish with homemade varnish made with equal parts of white glue and water to achieve a slight shine and greater firmness. I also put some leaves made with bond paper painted with green marker.
Solo resta barnizar con barniz casero hecho con partes iguales de pega blanca y agua para lograr un leve brillo y mayor firmeza. También le coloqué unas hojas hechas con papel bond pintado con marcador verde.
