Origami with Bills: Six-Pointed Star ǀǀ Origami con Billetes: Estrella de Seis Puntas
Hello, DIY Hub friends! I hope you are feeling great. This time I come to present you a simple origami that I learned these days. It is a 6-pointed star, also known as Star of David.
¡Hola, amigos de DIY Hub! Espero que se encuentren muy bien. En esta ocasión vengo a presentarles un sencillo origami que aprendí en estos días. Se trata de una estrella de 6 puntas, también conocida como Estrella de David.
Lately I have been interested in this ancient Japanese art of making paper figures. I have found this hobby very relaxing and entertaining. I read that there is a more purist style in which no glue or any other type of material is used in the elaboration of these figures, while there are other more flexible currents in that sense.
En los últimos tiempos me he estado interesando por este arte milenario japonés de hacer figuras de papel también conocido como papiroflexia. He encontrado este pasatiempo muy relajante y entretenido. Leí que hay un estilo más purista en el cual no se utilizan pegamientos o ningún otro tipo de material en la elaboración de estas figuras, mientras que hay otras corrientes más flexibles en ese sentido.
Personally, I will start with simple creations and I will try to gradually make more elaborate origami, combining the purist technique and the more flexible ones according to my limitations as an apprentice.
En lo personal iniciaré con creaciones sencillas y trataré de poco a poco ir realizando origamis un poco más elaborados, combinando la técnica purista y las más flexibles según mis limitaciones como aprendiz.
For this craft it is necessary to watch the video that I bring you, since it’s basically about making folds and creases in paper, nothing better than to be guided by the images to be able to properly capture the process of elaboration. In my particular case I’m going to use bills that are out of circulation in my country due to the unfortunate monetary devaluation that has been experienced in recent years. I thought it was ideal to give a new use to these bills, taking advantage of their variety in designs and colors. Let's go to the explanatory video!
Para esta manualidad es necesario ver el video que les traigo, ya que como se trata básicamente de hacer pliegues y dobleces en papel, nada mejor que guiarnos con las imágenes para poder captar adecuadamente el proceso de elaboración. En mi caso particular voy a utilizar billetes que están fuera de circulación en mi país debido a la lamentable devaluación monetaria que se ha vivido en los últimos años. Me pareció ideal darles un nuevo uso a estos billetes, aprovechando su variedad en diseños y colores. ¡Vamos entonces al video explicativo!

I have always found origami to be a relaxing activity and I find the people who manage to create beautiful works of art with their hands and a piece of paper to be incredibly talented. I'm glad you are getting into this practice that also helps to work patience and I know that little by little we will see you bringing us more elaborate works.
