My portable console collection

I decided to write today a few words about portable consoles. Very often we take the phone with us on the go, for purely entertainment purposes. However, I prefer devices with physical buttons for games. Therefore, I would like to propose a few toys.

Nintendo DS

It's a console with two very small screens. Much smaller than current mobile devices. At one time, however, made a great furore, especially in the Land of the Rising Sun. With the advancement of technology, the console has been forgotten. I dug mine out recently after a few good years and it gave me so much entertainment that I quickly forgot about the archaisms. The game library is the largest of all the toys featured here. There's a whole bunch of Mario games, led by the excellent Mario Kart, and a few very good Pokemon games. Above all, Zelda. Buying a new Nintendo DS is almost impossible. Used equipment in good condition can be obtained for about 100 PLN. The price of some games may exceed the price of the console itself. There are several versions of the Nintendo DS. The xl edition with enlarged screens will be a bit more expensive. I own a Nintendo DS lite, which works really well. It is known that graphically it is a representative of the old times, but if for someone counts only on playability, he will find titles that will draw you in for hours.

Nintendo 3DS

The successors of Nintendo DS are Nintendo 2DS and 3DS consoles. They differ from each other by the presence of 3D effect. I really appreciate these devices for their wide library of exclusive games. What is there to say? The best items are the next parts of the games mentioned above. Plus the great Monster Hunter, Fantasy Life, Donkey Kong or Super Smash Bros. Really a lot of titles. The price of the console varies depending on the version. The first versions of consoles with a smaller screen can be purchased for about 400 zł (about $100). Console New 3DS XL, the latest edition is the cost from 800 zł (about $200) Today, you can still buy new consoles in different editions.

PS Vita

If we want to try the titles derived from the PS2 on the small screen is ideal PSP or Playstation Portable. For Pro Evolution Soccer, God of War or Tekken alone it was worth owning this equipment. The cost of this console is currently about 200 PLN. Of course, here it is also difficult to even dream of finding a new console. It is worth browsing through auction portals and check the equipment yourself.

The successor to the PSP was the Playstation Vita, which today we can buy for about 400 zł (about $100). Also rather difficult to find new copies of the console. Malicious people call this equipment Indiestation, suggesting that this console is mainly for indie games. And indeed, we have a surfeit of indie games here. And the console after years can be evaluated as a wasted potential. Because the technical capabilities of the hardware are relatively high, but the publishers of big games and Sony itself somehow forgot about Vita. And it's a shame, because it lacked nothing to be a very good toy except...more games. But there are also some really good titles on the Vita. Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Raymans, Wipout or already mentioned on another occasion Dragon's Crown are really good positions.

Nintendo Switch

And then it's time for my current favorite piece of hardware, the Nintendo Switch. The first hybrid console that you can both play on a TV or monitor and take on the go. This idea was a hit. Despite the small number of games in the beginning, now the hardware is developing quite well. Obligatory items are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8. And for fans of RPG Xenoblade.
