"Japanese people are so lucky to have Shinto shrines around." As a white guy from the US, I agree! I haven't talked with anyone from over there, but I assume most people probably take them for granted. Shinto's connection to nature feels like something so many people could benefit from if they took the time for it.

The Japanese government did its best to restore and maintain its historical architecture and culture. It's beautiful to have shrines in the middle of nature/forest. Zen feeling.
