It makes sense. The more simple the app/product is the users will attract easily. Hive lite is a great concept where users do not need to worry about the complex keychain process.
Having said that, it is also important for users to know how to function with blockchain tech. Since they will be responsible for their assets and keys in the absence of a custodial agent, it is very important for users to learn the complexities. It will come with time.
Ethereum base layer is known for its security. As you said in the post, there are second layer solutions built on top. I think the future is a multichain metaverse where specialized chains will cater specialized audience.

Exactly. Onboarding new users and educating them on how to use dApps should be a priority.
