How many Hive accounts do I need? #AskLeo

(Edited)

I have one Hive account that I regularly use. I use this account for all the posts that I make on #hive. All my @actifit posts, @liketu photos and @leofinance posts are shared in the same account. Now, I am beginning to think that I may need to have more than one Hive account.

The Reason

Native applications and multiple front ends

I typically post my long form content on Leofinance community. This is where I share my thoughts on the ongoing crypto issues and platform related long form posts. At the same time, I also share sports related content while posting through @actifit front end. My life journey is shared through photos on @Liketu at least twice a week. All these contents are not related to each other and there is a disconnect. While going through my blog I could see a distinct pattern of my posts.

I do not mind being someone who posts on multiple communities but I am also worried that it may look fragmented to others. I do not know why that is a problem.

Do you think that's an issue?

The photos that I shared on @Liketu are displayed differently when they are viewed on other Hive frontends. Same with @actifit posts. They don't look as good and coordinated as they would when viewed through their native app.

Reputation of @actifit posts

I don't know for others but my actifit posts do not garner much attention in general. The reason could be the quality of my actifit posts but I doubt it. I consider myself an ok writer who shares sports related content.

Do members from one community not notice or appreciate posts from other communities? or do they not care?

There are many reputed and big accounts on Hive with multiple accounts catered to different communities. Look at @onealfa.leo @taskmaster4450 @dalz and many other connections I regularly interact with. One of the reasons for the big account to have multiple accounts is because of the curation nightmare related to HE tokens. Is that the only reason?

**So, what do my good people on #hive think? **

Do I need more than one Hive account? Do you have more than one Hive account? If yes, why and If no, why not?

What’s the rationale to create multiple accounts? Did u use all of the accounts?

I have one account that I use only to interchange HIVE and HBD in the internal market, taking advantage of the spread.
Another account triggers a bot for the runningproject account
Another is for playing
etc...

I think you have valid reasons to create multiple accounts as they are used for non posting purpose.

There was certain time when I had maybe 15 different acounts, all running actively ( perhaps a true overkill)
Soon many of them went dead, as so did the tribes:
onealfa.ccc, onealfa.pal, onealfa.dlike, onealfa.life, onealfa.neox, onealfa.photo, onealfa.pob, onealfa.vyb, onealfa.sports, onealfa.actifit, onealfa.zzan, take-my-coinz, gimme-your-coinz.
And perhaps a few dozens other, which I don't even remember now all

So, you created accounts to curate contents on different communities? Why was one account not enough?

To make ultimate control of each token voting power waste.
Not each upvoted post has all tags of every tribe.
If I vote at full power with all my "photo" voting power in a post with #photo - I have no reason to also waste .ccc or .pal token voting power, as this photographer never use #ccc or #pal tags.
I like pushing things to the very MAXIMUM.
I'm maximalist

Yeah, I figure. But, do you suggest small accounts need to have multiple accounts? Is there value in creating multiple accounts to post inside different communities?

Perhaps not recommended for small accounts. Takes tons of time to manage them all properly. 2 or 3 separate accounts should be enough for most cases

Yeah. I am thinking to have one more to write non finance posts.

In my opinion, initially one account is enough, it may make sense to start having a second account from 10/20k HP onwards... and maybe they are too few.

Then of course everyone uses the strategies they prefer; For example, I prefer to focus on just one account and make it grow as much as possible, at least for now.

It is different if we invest money from outside, then we might think of opening more accounts and maximizing investments.

I don't think it is necessary. It really begins to make sense though once you get some large discrepancies between tokens if you want to maximize curation earnings.

As mentioned above by onealfa.leo, the problem then becomes doing the actual curation for many accounts.

I have considered doing this to maximize earnings, but cannot really see where I would have the time, thus defeating their purpose :-)

I can imagine how I could do it time-wise, but it would require bots, for which I do not currently have the skill.

I could pay someone to make me some bots -- once again negating the advantage. So for now, I just stick with one even though I theoretically am "losing" money.

Multiple accounts used to be more common. I think they are now less so for these very reasons.

Separate account s do make sense to me though if you personally want to compartmentalize certain aspects of your content.
