Some random facts about saliva

Production is estimated at 1500ml per day (in adult humans).
Composed almost exclusively by water, but also contains electrolytes, mucus, white blood cells, epithelial cells, enzymes, antimicrobial agents and lysozymes.
Has a relevant role oral hygiene and digestion.

Remember: Chew your food properly! Not just for mechanically crush food into smaller pieces, but also because you give salive more time to act!
