Tito y Tomás
Se encontraba tirado en la grama; viendo los deportistas trotar, a los niños jugar; soñando ser como ellos, cierto día, un niño vino al parque y se fijó en él, en ese entonces no era más que una rama de palo como cualquier otra, pero al niño le llamó especialmente la atención y se propuso que lo cambiaría para siempre.
Un día Tomás: así se llamaba el niño, caminaba por el parque junto a su familia y al pasar cerca de la fuente vio el trozo de un árbol muy particular, tenía unas extensiones con si fuera su cabello, aquello llamó poderosamente su atención, lo tomó y se lo mostró a sus padres, para luego llevarlo a su casa.
Al llegar lo subió a su habitación y hablándole le dijo:
–De ahora en adelante serás mi compañero, te llamaré Tito, te haré unos ojos para que puedas ver y una boca para que podamos hablar y una nariz para que puedas respirar y oídos para que oigas todo. Diciendo esto se puso en la tarea de hacerle todo lo que había dicho.
Pero lo que jamás imaginó Tomás, fue que Tito al tener ojos lo vería, que al tener boca le hablaría y podría oírle todo lo que le decía, quedó atónito ante las palabras de Tito, comenzó por agradecerle el haberse fijado en él, también le contó de sus enormes deseos de poder ser como los humanos.
–A diario veía la gente caminar, trotar, reír, hablar y soñaba con poder tener oídos, ojos, boca y tú, Tomás, me los ha regalado.
Mientras se lo contaba rodaban lágrimas por sus ojos, Tomás, lo apretó contra su pecho y le juró que nunca lo dejaría. Desde aquel día Tito y Tomás iban juntos al parque todos los días, se convirtieron en mejores amigos disfrutando de las experiencias de la vida y lo más importante aceptándose a pesar de sus diferencias físicas.
Así pasaron muchos años, hasta que la mortalidad de Tomás se hizo presente, antes de dar su último aliento, llamó a Tito y a su nieto el más querido.
—Mi querido Tito de ahora en adelante, Ángel será tu compañía cuando deje de existir. Quiero que los dos sean mejores amigos como lo fuimos nosotros —,diciendo esto Tomás miró a Tito y lo abrazó como aquella primera vez, dejando su último aliento en el rostro pintado del gran amigo.
Tito and Tomás
He was lying on the grass; always watching the athletes running, the children playing and dreaming of being like them; one day, a boy came to the park and noticed him, at that time he was just a stick branch like any other, but the boy was particularly struck by it and decided to change it forever.
One day Tomás: that was the boy's name, he was walking through the park with his family and when he passed near the fountain he saw a piece of a very particular tree, it had some extensions as if it was his hair, that caught his attention, he took it and showed it to his parents, and then he took it home.
When he arrived he took him up to his room and speaking to him said: "From now on you will be my companion, I will call you Titus, I will make you eyes so you can see and a mouth so we can talk and a nose so you can breathe and ears so you can hear everything," saying this, he set about the task of making him everything he had said.
But what Tomás never imagined was that Tito, having eyes, would see him, that having a mouth he would talk to him and could hear everything he said, he was stunned by Tito's words, he began by thanking him for having noticed him, he also told him about his great desire to be like humans.
"Every day I saw people walking, jogging, laughing, talking and I dreamed of being able to have ears, eyes, mouth and you.Tomas, have given them to me."
As he told him tears rolled down his eyes, Tomas, pressed him to his chest and swore he would never leave him. From that day on Tito and Tomas went to the park together every day, they became best friends enjoying life's experiences and most importantly accepting each other despite their physical differences.
Many years passed in this way, until Tomas's mortality became present, before giving his last breath, he called Tito and his dearest grandson. "My dear Tito, from now on, Angel will be your company when I am no longer alive. I want the two of you to be best friends as we were," saying this, Tomas looked at Tito and hugged him like that first time, leaving his last breath on the painted face of his great friend.
