Hoy quiero mostrarles el reemplazo del sector realizado al camión de mi papá. En uno de mis trabajos anteriores les mencioné lo delicado que es no chequear la bomba de dirección hidráulica porque el sector o caja de dirección quedaría sin Lubricación y al no estar lubricada no permite el buen funcionamiento a la hora de movilizar la dirección (volante).

Mi hermano que es quien lo maneja se percató de está falla cuando de repente la dirección del volante se puso muy dura para cruzar. Por eso la necesidad de realizar este reemplazo pues la caja de dirección estaba completamente trancada.
The truck sector was precisely what happened when it ran out of oil. My brother who drives it noticed this failure when suddenly the steering wheel became very hard to cross. That's why it was necessary to replace it because the steering box was completely stuck.
Mi padre cuenta con algunos repuestos que guarda de los camiones anteriores que tuvo. Mi hermano es el encargado de hacerle mantenimiento al camión. Así que aprovechando esa oportunidad me tomé la libertad de capturar lo que pude de este reemplazo y por supuesto mostrarles el trabajo.
My father has some spare parts that he keeps from the previous trucks he owned. My brother is in charge of maintaining the truck. So taking advantage of this opportunity I took the liberty to capture what I could of this replacement and of course show you the work.
Se quitó obviamente el caucho del lado del conductor, luego el brazo loco que está sujetado al sinfin con un tornillo pasante y una tuerca. Tanto por encima, por debajo y por el frente tiene tornillos que fija el sector.
Obviously the rubber on the driver's side was removed, then the idler arm that is attached to the worm with a through bolt and a nut. Both above, below and at the front it has screws that fix the sector.

Luego se le quitó la manguera de retorno, con el objetivo de dejar que salga el aceite.

También se desprende con una llave la manguera que baja de la bomba de aceite y le suministra el aceite al sector. Luego con dos llaves se le quitan tres tornillos que sujetan la barra de la dirección del sector, por un lado se sujeta la tuerca con una llave para que no se gire y por el otro con otra llave se afloja el tornillo.
The hose that comes down from the oil pump and supplies the oil to the sector is also removed with a wrench. Then, with two wrenches, three screws that hold the steering rod of the sector are removed, on one side the nut is fastened with a wrench so that it does not turn and on the other side the screw is loosened with another wrench.

Ahora sacar el sector o caja de dirección que es muy pesada. Y luego al sector que se va a instalar se le coloca la tapa de hierro que forma parte de la caja de dirección.

Luego se le fijan los tornillos y se ajustan para asegurar la tapa al sector. Y Luego de instalada se le colocan los tornillos de la parte superior e inferior de la caja de dirección. También las mangueras de aceite (suministro y retorno). Al sinfin se le ajusta el brazo loco o brazo de dirección con el tornillo y la tuerca.
Then the screws are attached and tightened to secure the cover to the sector. After the cover is installed, the screws on the top and bottom of the steering box are attached. Also the oil hoses (supply and return). The idler arm or steering arm is adjusted with the bolt and nut.

Por último se lleva a su lugar la barra de la dirección para luego colocarle los tornillos y ajustar.Mi hermano se aseguró de que la bomba de aceite tuviera el aceite necesario para luego encender el camión para movilizar el volante y así permitir que la bomba de aceite lubrique el sector.
Lastly, the steering rod is brought into place and then the bolts are put in place and tightened. My brother made sure the oil pump had the necessary oil and then started the truck to move the steering wheel to allow the oil pump to lubricate the sector.
