"Night of the Devil Lolly" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Ink on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] This piece was originally published (back in Aug. 2017) on my old, PRIMITIVE ENTERTAINMENT WORKSHOP blog... I have more than a few images on there that I have never tokenized! (This one looks coolest in full screen, if you ask me!) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"This Way" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] When the VISITORS finally arrive, let's hope they ask the right person to take them to their leader. If they ask Herbert, he's just going to take them to his mom. (And, yes, 38 is far too old to still live with his parents...) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Not a Real Witch" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen on notebook page with digital embellishments and color.] Hollywood and storybook "witches" aren't witches at all. They're HAGS. Of course, the various witch-hunting crazes over the last several hundred years (not to mention the TWO Satanic Panics that have hit the U.S.) have led to some serious witch slandering... As a fan of monsters, I'm pro-hag, personally, and I'm also of the age that sources like the Wizard of Oz and old, plastic Halloween masks from the '60s and '70s make me feel all warm and fuzzy... ---Richard F. "Blue Demon" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] Here's a demon that I met a few years ago while on vacation at a haunted hotel in Hood River, Oregon. He's a decent fellow (as long as he stays away from whiskey!) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Declaration of Intent (3 Sept 2022)" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Digital letters and some lines and a pair of transparent pngs on digital paper.] This is something like a new manifesto, but without the word "manifesto" in it anywhere. Actually, most of my manifestos are just a continuation of my earlier manifestos, most of which I've forgotten... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Abandoned Dock Site" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen, liner pen, and mechanical pencil on reclaimed cardboard over paper collage / mixed media bullshit or something with digital embellishments and color.] I think it's art. I've never been to this particular docking area, but it's clear from this photo that it's haunted. ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Primitive Buddies" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Felt pen, paint pen, ballpoint pen, and gel pen on reclaimed cardboard over pink cardstock with digital embellishments and minor color tweaking.] These two friends are wearing their cardboard Dada masks and going door to door preaching the gospel according to Tzara! ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

"Conceptual Project (Rot - Part 2)" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Photograph with digital junk added to it, plus some HEAVY conceptual ideation.] On 24 June 2022, I minted a photograph of my right arm with a blue, plastic arm band on that I had received at a concert on June 22nd. (In the original post, I said that the arm band was applied on the 23rd, but I double-checked the calendar, and it was the 22nd when I received it.) I then wore the piece everyday, thru showers, countless hand-washes, and restless sleep, to see how long it would take before the artifact disintegrated to the point that it would no longer stay on.
As of this morning (3 Sept. 2022), it fell off when my wife, jokingly, tugged at it... I'm not making any exceptions for "interference" in the process, and I consider her good-natured shenanigans a legitimate element of the object being part of my arm. Therefore, counting today as a day, it took EXACTLY 73 days for the arm band to fail. That's surprising robust.
I should mention that I am a compulsive handwasher (30 or 40 times in a day, at least), so this thing didn't have an easy existence.
For those who might be interested, here is the link to PART 1 of the project:

Thanks for playing along! We'll see what OTHER strange projects I can document in the future. This was actually kind of fun!

"Breathing In" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)
[Liner pen on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.] Breathe.... breathe in the air... Take in the thoughts and mental energy of others. Interestingly, it doesn't diminish a work when it's read by more than one person. (Drink a glass of water and nobody else can drink that glass of water. Eat a cookie and nobody else can eat that cookie. But when you read a book, anyone else can read that same book, and neither the original reader nor the author who wrote the words suffers any kind of loss...) I call this the LAW OF THE CONSERVATION OF MENTAL ENERGY. (As an OFFICIAL FOOL, I get to make up my own words and phrases...) ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

[Digital drawing created on my phone then moshed until it exploded.] I'm guessing that something has attempted to enter the PSYCHO-SPACE of a powerful wizard, and the mage has sent several homunculi to attack the intruder - metaphorically speaking... ---Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Dink dank donk and dunk... It never has been proven that words HAVE to have meaning. Sometimes, they (words) can just represent sounds. I'm unconvinced that ANY words have meaning (especially these!)
