FRANCE 1998 WORLD CUP ALBUM - ÁLBUM DEL MUNDIAL FRANCIA 1998 [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends of HIVE, I hope you are well. I send you a big greeting, especially to the Hive Collector community which I have enjoyed a lot for what is posted here; I have seen many really impressive posts. It is true that it has been quite a few days since my last post and I have had some personal problems; sometimes these come one after the other and it gets really complicated to handle them.

However, I'm back now and I'm very happy about it. In this article I will continue showing you my collection of soccer albums, this time it is the album of the World Cup held in France in 1998.

Days ago I made a publication corresponding to the Italy 90 album and I would have liked to present you the album of the USA 1994 World Cup, which I had but it was lost many years ago in strange circumstances; it was really unfortunate.

Les envío un gran saludo, especialmente a la comunidad de Hive Collector la cual he disfrutado mucho por lo que aquí se publica; he visto muchas publicaciones realmente impresionantes. Es cierto que han pasando bastantes días desde mi última publicación y es que he tenido algunos problemas personales; a veces estos vienen uno tras otro y se hace realmente complicado manejarlos.

No obstante, ya estoy de vuelta y estoy muy contento por ello. En este artículo continuaré mostrándoles mi colección de álbumes de fútbol, en esta oportunidad se trata del álbum del mundial fútbol celebrado en Francia en el año 1998.

Hace días atrás hice una publicación correspondiente al álbum de Italia 90 y me hubiera gustado presentarles el álbum del mundial de USA 1994, el cuál tuve pero se extravió hace muchos años en circunstancias extrañas; fue realmente lamentablemente.

Hubiera sido sumamente interesante hablar de ese mundial, ya que el mundial de USA 94 que le precedió al que hoy les presentaré había comenzado la era comercial, fue innovador en muchos sentidos. En él se llevó a cabo la idea de colocar con el nombre de los jugadores en el dorso de las camisetas por ejemplo, el color de los uniformes de los árbitros que siempre fue de color negro se modificó a otros colores y en Francia 1994 se mantuvieron estos cambios.

Sin embargo pasaremos directamente a la presentación del álbum del mundial de Francia 1998. Al igual que el de Italia 90 que presente en mi último artículo, este también pertenece a la editorial venezolana Reyauca.

Francia 1998 fue un mundial muy entretenido, con partidos muy emocionantes y de gran calidad, sin embargo, pienso tanto los mundiales de Italia 90 y USA 94 fueron mejores.

You may remember the theme song of this World Cup, "La copa de la vida", performed by the Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin; it was undoubtedly a hit.

The cost of this album was Bs. 600 as can be seen on the cover and the envelopes had a value of Bs. 80 containing these 3 cards each. The album consisted of 528 cards in total, which were not self-adhesive with the advantage that the player's information appeared at the bottom, which allowed to paste them completely and not only at the top to be able to see the information on the back as in previous editions.

The information offered for each player consisted of name, date of birth, height, weight and the club he belonged to at that time. On the page corresponding to each team, information about the country was shown, such as: area, population, association and address, year of foundation, FIFA affiliation, club numbers, national stadium, clothing colors, as well as the update of each team in the previous World Cups.

El tema musical de este mundial tal vez lo recuerden, "La copa de la vida" que fuera interpretado por el cantante puertorriqueño Ricky Martin; fué un éxito indudablemente.

El costo de este álbum era de Bs. 600 como se puede apreciar en la portada y los sobres tenían un valor de Bs. 80 conteniendo estos 3 barajitas cada uno. El álbum consta de 528 barajitas en total, las cuales tampoco eran autoadhesivas con la ventaja que la información del jugador aparece abajo lo cuál permitía pegarlas completamente y no solo en la parte superior para poder ver la información atrás como en ediciones anteriores.

La información ofrecida de cada jugador consistía en el nombre, fecha de nacimiento, estatura, peso y club al que pertenecía para ese entonces. En la página correspondiente a cada equipo se mostraban datos del país como: superficie, población, asociación y dirección de la misma, año de fundación, afiliación a la FIFA, números de clubes, estadio nacional, colores de la indumentaria así como la actualización de cada selección en las anteriores copas mundiales.

Francia 1998 fue el último mundial de los brasileños Bebeto, Dunga, el rumano Gheorghe Hagi, el alemán Jürgen Klissman, el colombiano Carlos Valderrama además del italiano Roberto Baggio que se despidió de los mundiales con un gol de penalty ante Chile. Por otro lado, debutaron jugadores como Costacurta, Cristian Vieri, delantero italiano. Por Inglaterra debutó el muy conocido David Beckham.

Cómo datos curioso en este álbum aparecen los padres de los actuales jugadores Erling Haaland (Noruega) y Federico Chiesa (Italia) en las barajitas 44 y 84 respectivamente. Otro dato curioso es que la selección de España en su alineación principal contaba con Luis Enrique quien fuera el último director técnico de la selección española.

Es una lastima que la barajita 384 correspondiente al jugador Yugoslavo Predrag Mijatovic nunca pude obtenerla y es que este jugador fué el que anotó el gol que le dió la victoria en la final de la Champions League al Real Madrid contra la Juventus de Turin de Zinedine Zidanne en el mismo año.

En Francia 1998 debutaron las selecciones de Jamaica, Japón y Croacia. Está última dió una grata sorpresa al lograr acceder a semifinales, enfrentandose a la anfitriona Francia. En algún momento estuvieron derrotando a los locales por 1 - 0 para luego terminar derrotados 2 goles por 1; fué una actuación destacada para ser si primera participación.

La selección Argentina contaba con la presencia del actual técnico del club español Atlético de Madrid Diego Simeone (barajita 478) y su técnico fue Daniel Passarella (barajita 485) que levantó la copa del mundo en el mundial Argentina 1978 junto al conocido Mario Kempes.

Por parte de Brasil el técnico fue Mario Zagalo, y es interesante el hecho de que como jugador fué campeón en el mundial de Suecia 1958 junto al rey Pelé y también fue campeón como técnico en el 1970 en que fuera el último mundial de Pelé.

Las semifinales fueron por un lado Brasil - Países Bajos y por la otra llave Francia - Croacia. Brasil derrotó a Países Bajos en un partido muy parejo que finalizo en el tiempo regular 1 - 1 y se definió en penales a favor de Brasil 4 a 2.

Por su parte Francia, que estuvo ausente en los dos últimos mundiales, siendo el último mundial jugado en 1986; el fin de la era de Michele Platini. Francia liderada por Zidanne que venía de jugar con la Juventus de Turin venció a Croacia en semifinales y se coronó a la postre derrotando a Brasil por 3 a 0.

Dos años después Francia gana la Eurocopa del año 2000, en prórroga con gol de David Trezeguet cuando existia el llamado "gol de oro".
