Saludos apreciada comunidad de cinéfilos, recientemente he tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar de la película No Mires Arriba, la cual me había sido recomendada en varias ocasiones por la trascendente crítica implícita en su guión, y debo decir que valió la pena porque es de esas producciones que no sólo gusta sino que también nos deja pensando y reflexionando por días acerca de las realidades que en la misma se muestran.

Greetings dear community of moviegoers, I recently had the opportunity to enjoy the movie Don't Look Up, which had been recommended to me on several occasions due to the important criticism implicit in its script, and I must say that it was worth it because It is one of those productions that not only pleases but also leaves us thinking and reflecting for days about the realities that are shown in it.

La historia que se muestra en el film gira en torno al descubrimiento de un cometa de grandes proporciones que literalmente puede acabar con la vida en el planeta, mostrando así lo que sería un evento de magnitud apocalíptica. Al mismo tiempo se puede apreciar la diversidad de reacciones que genera en la gente la cercanía de un evento de extinción, el enfoque científico al que pocos les prestan atención con la rigurosidad del caso, la perspectiva política asumida por los gobiernos del mundo y lo que puede ser uno de los focos de mayor atención, el debate ético en las acciones a tomar.

The story shown in the film revolves around the discovery of a large comet that can literally end life on the planet, thus showing what an event of apocalyptic magnitude would be. At the same time, it is possible to appreciate the diversity of reactions that the proximity of an extinction event generates in people, the scientific approach to which few pay attention with the rigor of the case, the political perspective assumed by the governments of the world and what it can be one of the focuses of greater attention, the ethical debate in the actions to be taken.

La película tiene corte dramático ciertamente, pero la forma como es relatada tiene tintes de ironía y humor negro ante una inminente tragedia, los personajes son cotidianos y la forma como se expresan da cuenta de una sinceridad evidente en la forma como son, piensan y actúan, esto es, no hay disimulo en absoluto de su verdadera naturaleza ni de sus realidades, esto podría incluso deberse a que la cercanía del fín los desinhibe porque sienten que no tienen nada que perder.

Esta es, desde mi perspectiva una producción cinematográfica bien lograda, no es aburrida, tiene sus niveles de intensidad y un poderoso mensaje que no sólo es reflexivo sino que impulsa la necesaria crítica en torno a situaciones políticas y éticas que muchas veces ocurren tras bastidores y pasan desapercibidas de la sociedad global. Entre los aspectos más resaltantes que vale la pena mencionar destaco los siguientes:

Tiene hasta los momentos buena valoración de la crítica, premiaciones y nominaciones en diferentes galardones, incluída la reciente nominación a los premios Óscar en el reglón de Mejor película.
