Our Daily Trip to Düsseldorf

Hello! Today I want to share our trip to Düsseldorf with you. Düsseldorf is the capital of the North Rhine-Westphalia state in Germany. During our trip, we visited tourist spots like the banks of the Rhine River, the Old Town (Altstadt) and the Königsallee. But we didn't just come here to see the tourist attractions; we also came to go ice skating.

As soon as we entered the city, the tall buildings caught our attention. We walked towards the banks of the Rhine River, passing through charming streets. The trees were budding, it's a beautiful spring day in Germany, although not very sunny, it was still beautiful.

Düsseldorf is, of course, a big city, quite crowded, with plenty of transportation options, including long and interesting trams that we're not used to seeing. There are some fascinating streets here; sometimes you get confused about which way to turn. There's a bike lane on the right side, quite spacious and unusual. After coming from our small town, driving on these wide streets feels odd.

We visited the charming tower located at Burgplatz. Schlossturm is a must-visit for Düsseldorf tourists. It's a museum focusing on the river, offering live history and some interactive experiences. There are also noteworthy ship models to see.

We continued along the road leading to the banks of the Rhine River; there was a lovely side street here, with bicycles catching the eye immediately, giving off a European vibe. Then we reached the banks of the Rhine River. There's a beautiful castle here, with lovely old-style architecture. We walked along the river for a bit and then headed towards the Old Town. We saw some interesting boats that caught our attention.

We observed the European houses and marvelously designed bridges with interest and enjoyed nature. Behind Schlossturm, there was St. Lambertus Church, overall the square has a very interesting appearance. St. Lambertus Church is one of the symbolic structures of Düsseldorf. Some parts of this magnificent church date back to 1206 and have been expanded later. It's known for its crooked tower, which is a remarkable feature. In 1815, lightning struck the church and a new tower was built. According to legend, the devil tried to uproot the church and bent the tower while doing so. If you plan to visit Düsseldorf, I suggest visiting St. Lambertus Church.

Actually, we planned to walk along the banks of the Rhine River for a longer time, but it started raining and our time was limited. We walked towards Corneliusplatz City Park. Corneliusplatz is a beautiful square in Düsseldorf. There's a relief fountain in the middle of the square. It's named in memory of Peter von Cornelius. We watched the ducks wandering around the fountain. It's interesting, they're not afraid of people, they just roam around here. And of course, there's a wonderful fountain, really magnificent.

There was a shopping center on our way and we wanted to check out the prices. We ordered a pizza and two servings of fries for the kids. It came to 30 euros. After snacking, we went ice skating. What an atmosphere, truly wonderful! Renting a pair of skates was 4 euros, adult entry was 2.80 euros and for the kids, it was 3.30 euros.

We walked a bit more, then headed back home as it was getting late. But we were very pleased with the walk; we were really happy.

We visited the tourist spots of Düsseldorf, strolled along the banks of the Rhine River and Königsallee, went ice skating with the kids, which was a very important activity for them. We really enjoyed it. We had a great day and returned home.
