Covid-19 Pandemic Lockdown & Its Influence On How The World Is Accepting The Metaverse

Is the metaverse here already, because, according to my knowledge it’s going to take some few years before we start feeling the effect of the metaverse. But am impressed with Samsung metaverse store in Decentraland.

Samsung just created a replica of their SAMSUNG New York Store on the metaverse, which is really cool. This way customers can avoid physical contact with the store due to COVID-19. I don’t know if this means that they can purchase any Samsung products through the metaverse, if it’s possible then it’s really cool.

I personally feel that COVID-19 pandemic gave room for the acceptance of the metaverse idea. Because during the COVID-19 pandemic, lots of people had to rely on the digital space to keep them company. They had to shop online, play games, interact and socialize online. Having the metaverse be an idea of obvious possibility sounds like a better idea. I believe that, if the world didn’t go into lockdown due to the pandemic, the idea of the metaverse will sound insane to it.

But the pandemic has given us a glimpse of what the metaverse will feel like, how convenient and effective it will be. After the Covid-19 lock down, people began rethinking working from home. Going to the office everyday felt absurd because they now realize that they could actually do all these at home and still get the work done.

It’s easier to explain metaverse to people relating it to how the world adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. I remember telling a friend about the metaverse and it’s relation to crypto and how people can make money off it. He sounded interested and felt it was a great idea, but am sure if I had told him this 4 years ago before the COVID-19 lockdown it will sound absurd to him.

I was watching a show hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg talked about his Metaverse house on SANDBOX. He showed a glimpse of what his house in the metaverse looked like, it got to a part where he invited people into his metaverse home for a metaverse party. The house was filled with lots of party people having a party, these people are real people in the metaverse having a nice time in the metaverse. Showing that the adoption and implementation of the metaverse is gradually becoming a reality.

With Samsung having a metaverse shop, am sure people will be able to buy their electronics through it. You know the world and the mentality of “The First”. You know the phase of being “The First” to achieve something. Now Samsung has opened a metaverse shop, I don’t really know if they are the first to do that, but be prepared to see more people implement metaverse shops.
