A delicious and popular Acehnese cuisine recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation

Acehnese are no stranger to the name "Kuah Pliek" or Gulai patarana, yes, this typical Acehnese dish is very popular among Acehnese, apart from its delicious taste, this "Pliek Kuah" recipe is the pride and patent rights of Acehnese people who already exist since ancient times hundreds of years ago, and continues to be preserved until now.

And today I want to share with you guys the recipe for "Kuah Pliek / Batarana Curry, typical of Aceh.

The materials needed are:

  • Long Beans 100 grams
  • Melinjo leaves 100 grams
  • Melinjo fruit 100 grams
  • Eggplant index 100 grams
  • purple eggplant 100 grams
  • 1 papaya fruit
  • 1 coconut to take the coconut milk or 2 liters of coconut milk
  • Pliek U/Batarana 200 grams

Additional Ingredients

  • Onion 2 cloves
  • lemongrass 2 sticks
  • Stomach orange leaves 5 pieces finely chopped
  • 5 large green chilies, cut oblique

Ground spices

  • Onion 5 cloves
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 10 pieces of cayenne pepper
  • cilantro 1/2 teaspoon
  • pepper 1/4 teaspoon
  • 1 segment ginger
    *turmeric 1 segment
  • 6 pieces sunti acid
    *salt to taste

Steps to cook:

Step 1:

  • Cut all the vegetables consisting of stake beans, melinjo leaves, eggplant until it reaches a thick papaya fruit, wash all the vegetables that have been cut until clean

Step 2:

  • Puree all the spices

Step 3

  • Soak the patarana for about 5 minutes then mash it

Step 4

  • Grate the coconut and take the coconut milk

Step 5.

  • Put all the vegetables that have been cut into the pan, and add the mashed patarana, also add the spices that have been mashed, and add the coconut milk.

Step 6

  • stir until evenly mixed and wait a while until the vegetables are really cooked.

If all the steps have been followed correctly, then you have succeeded in cooking Pliek Vegetable or Patarana Vegetables typical of Aceh and you can enjoy it deliciously with your beloved family.

This pliek sauce is very delicious if eaten while it is still warm and not cold, it can be served with white rice plus fried salted fish.
