A month later at Chateau d'Ombrage.

Helped by his mother, Hugo has become able to control the rats. Vitalis, who injected himself with the boy's blood, tried to force Hugo through the first threshold. But, protected by Lucas's elixir, Hugo resisted. Beatrice and her son are still the Grand Inquisitor's prisoners, and he intends to continue his experiment.

We were taken back to the Chateau d'Ombrage where Amicia was as ill as dead after losing his brother. Lucas with the others took great care of our girl and saved her in that situation.

It was after a month, at January 1349 when Amicia still didn't hear anything about Hugo and it looked like she was still looking for her brother to come back and give her a hug.

When Amicia was hinting me to go the yard saying Rodric should be there, I noticed Lucas trying to unlock a box but the lock was frozen as it was a tough winter this year.

I checked the tree where Amicia's locket was still hanging and then I noticed buckets of apples in the castle. Amicia was mentioning that they never had so many apples and added that Hugo would be sick seeing all these apples.

I went outside and found Melie and Arthur was quarrelling cause Arthur was thinking of going outside. Then Amicia told them it'd be dark soon and they needs to light the fire. Arthur decided to help Amicia and we started working on it.

When we were done lighting all the fire, the rats in the pits started growing up and they started creating cluster and started putting out the fires around. There were way too many and it looked like a storm of rats.

There were thousands of man eating rats below us and we were stuck in different locations when we had to reach the ladder in the bridge area so we may be able to get the tower.

Arthur didn't have any Ignifer left so he was stuck there and I had to reach a brazier so Arthur can help me get to the ladder and for that, I had to clear my path first.

We were doing good so far but suddenly a cluster of rats came over and put out the fire of the brazier I was close to and they took me in.

I did better with the next try but I got stuck somewhere cause I had to help Arthur get to me first and then go for the tower which I did after I got to know about it and we ran to the tower.

They reunited inside the tower and when they were conducting among themselves about the situation, a pile of rats were coming towards them so everyone escaped except Amicia.

Both Amicia and I were surprised to see Hugo there who came wearing a special suit and there was Nicholas with him. Hugo was controlling the rats there and probably he's the reason that made the castle flooded with the rats.

We tried to escape but Nicholas somehow got Amicia when the others escaped and took her to Hugo. Nicholas was asking Hugo to kill Amicia or he'll kill their mother in front of the kid.

I thought Hugo was getting controlled by some spells or something but now I see they're blackmailing the kid threatening to kill his mother.

As Hugo was not doing anything except pushing Amicia backwards, Nicholas pushed the kid saying he'd let the rats have her and when he was about to take Amicia down, Arthur saved her by pushing some rocks on Nicholas.

Now Hugo went closer to Amicia and was sending the rats towards her as she lied to him about their mother being dead.

The kid was in a rage and tried to kill his sister but Amicia ran to him so did the rats and it looked like they were saved but Hugo went unconscious.

Suddenly Nicholas got up and first killed Arthur and then he was coming to get us. I used the power of Hugo to send the rats to kill Nicholas and it looked like it worked.

But no, Nicholas didn't give up. His sword started flaming and he was using it to keep the rats away.

I had to try different strategies where first I had to put out the fire of the braziers around and then the fire of his sword and I had to send the rats before he could light his sword up. After trying this strategy for some times, we took him down.

Melie was mourning for Arthur and then said she'll go alone to kill them all but the others convinced her that she won't make it alone. All of them decided to stop Vitalis, no matter if they dies.
