The Feeling of Regret When Trading Crypto and Why it Shouldn't Matter Long Term

Trading cryptocurrency is not an easy venture, nor is it relaxing. Especially in the case of day-trading, in which the trader is literally exchanging currencies as if it's a full time job. But with some common sense, strategy and patience it can definitely be lucrative. Sometimes it can even bring out other less positive emotions. One of those is regret. Regret, the feeling we get when an opportunity has passed us and we either failed to take it or missed the mark.

This same feeling of regret can hit when making a bad trade, or missing the opportunity to make a good trade. I felt a bit of that this morning when I opened my browser and saw that the price of ETH was 2700. At 4500 I was contemplating on selling a bit, but decided against it. In hindsight that would've been a good move. But then again, it might've been a bad move as well. You don't really know with the crypto market.

Regret and other feelings might come and go, but what's important is that you do your research and are confident in the decisions you make. And when that decision is not as precise as you had hoped it to be, consider it a learning moment. Making 100% perfect moves is unrealistic, but we can achieve maximum efficiency through research, experience and maybe just a bit of luck on the side.

What crypto decisions have you regretted recently?

Yeah, it's easy to say or write to not get your feelings involved, but harder to really turn them off. I hope with experience it'll get easier though.
