The words that kept me going
Challenges in life are inevitable; one way or the other, we will face tough times that will shake us to the extent of giving up on our dreams; it takes grace, determination, and focus to drive safely the boat of life on a stormy sea. Every one of us claims to be strong in the face of challenges, but there are times we find it difficult to remain on our feet. It's very much okay to get tired, not giving up or letting those challenges win over one is what makes one victorious.
There was a time in my life when I wanted to give up on education because getting admission into a higher institution then looked impossible. I was on the verge of saying I no longer wanted to go to school, knowing fully well that would truncate my dream of becoming a professor in the medical field. But amid this turbulence, there were some words of encouragement said to me by my loved ones that kept me going.
One of them is the common saying by my mother, "When there is life, there is hope." If what makes you human is taken, that is your breath, what then can you do? Absolutely nothing, but when there is life, there is sure hope and enough time to do whatever it is you have in plan to do because only the living make plans; the dead no longer have the grace and opportunity to do as he or she wishes. Some, when hit by the reality of life, fall into depression and end their lives by committing suicide, which is never a solution to any problem. These words gave me a heads-up on the journey of life and made me believe that the sky is a starting point once there is life.
Another one is that "comparison is a game for the fool, never get involved", my father always rings these particular words in my ears every blessed day. During my academic delay, some of my mates whom we graduated from college together got admission, some have graduated and are in their service year, and some have gotten married. I was then feeling bad and almost running into depression, comparing myself to them and why mine was different than my dad came to my rescue. He made me understand that there is a big difference between them and me, and he gave me reasons why I should never compare myself to anybody I was able to retrace my steps and focus more on myself.
Thirdly, and my favorite of all, is that "there is a right time for everything under heaven", which is so true. Why many people miss it is because they don't wait for the right time, as humans, we are always in a hurry. We want things done our way and that fast too, but it doesn't work like that most times; it must follow the due process of nature, but the time it will take is what many people cannot wait for, and this is the main reason why many rush into things that endangers their lives. You can imagine a seventeen-year-old boy who wants to ride a 20 million naira Range Rover car without any means of income or investment in his name. People should learn to understand that there is time for everything under heaven and cut their coats according to their sizes.
Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.
Honestly I agree with you
Why is a seventeen year old boy looking for a 20 million range Rover 😂
People must learn to follow the process
You can't cheat nature
If you want to skip a process you'll definitely compromise
Awesome write up
