Jedidah's Dreamcatcher

"Humans need our help. I can see different individuals having terrible dreams lately, and they are afraid for the bad dreams not to come to reality," said the Lord of Dreamcatchers, Lord Dion, to the Dreamcatchers in their meeting.

"Hmm, as your lordship pleases," the dreamcatchers chorused.

In Thomas's family, Jedidah is the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas. The couple had been without a child for 50 years, but they do visit the orphanage in their city from time to time, giving them relief materials and money.

On one of their visits to the orphanage, they saw a beautiful eight-year-old girl, and they decided to adopt her. After completing the necessary documentation, Jedidah officially became their daughter, and she has been living with them for a year now.

"Mom, mom, mom!" Jedidah screamed as she ran out of her room to her parent's room.

"What happened, baby? Why are you screaming?" Mrs. Thomas asked Jedidah, looking so concerned.

"Mom, I have the dream again," Jedidah said with her voice shaking.

"It's okay, baby; all will be well," Mrs. Thomas said to her daughter, who hugged her tightly.

This dream that this girl is frequently having—what can be the reason behind it? I need to find out," Mrs. Thomas thought to herself.

"Come on the bed, baby, and sleep here; you will be fine. Okay, I will tell your dad about it; okay, you know he's not at home presently," Mrs. Thomas assured Jedidah.

"Thank you, Mom," Jedidah said, and she hurriedly climbed her mother's bed as she lay closely beside her.

Mr. Thomas has traveled out of the country for his business; therefore, it's only Mrs. Thomas and Jedidah that were home.

In the morning, Mrs. Thomas went to the orphanage to inquire more about Jedidah from the patron at the orphanage.

"Good morning, patron. How have you been, ma?" Mrs. Thomas greeted as she stepped into the patron's office after knocking and being given permission to come in.

"Mrs. Thomas, good morning, ma. I've been good. How is family?" the patron answered.

"Very well, thanks, ma and yours," Mrs. Thomas replied.

"All fine, ma, what brought you here? I hope Jedidah is being of good behaviorr," the patron asked.

"Of course she is doing well; I'm here to make some inquiries about Jedidah," Mrs. Thomas started.

"Oh, okay, go on, ma," the patron replied.

It's been a year since she had been living with us now, and for the past eight months she has been complaining of having strange dreams," Mrs. Thomas explained.

"Strange dreams?" the patron exclaimed, looking surprised.

"Yes, ma, and I think it's getting worse because she had the same dream this morning around 2 a.m. before she ran to my room to sleep," Mrs. Thomas continued.

"What is the dream about Ma? Although she once told me of having a dream too, she never repeated it, so I thought it was just a child's play, or probably she played rough play that caused her to have such a dream," the patron explained.

"According to her, she said, she did see a man pursuing her with a gun in her dream, shouting, I will kill you," Mrs. Thomas explained to the patron.

"Wow! That's exactly what she told me then," the patron confirmed.

"So I want to ask if you know anything about her past that you didn't tell us that might help get to the root of this scary dream she is having," Mrs. Thomas asked the patron.

"She was brought here by a woman when she was five; the woman narrated to us that her parents were dead, and for Jedidah not to suffer, she had to bring her to the orphanage, and since the day the woman dropped her here, we haven't set our eyes on the woman again," the patron narrated to Mrs. Thomas.

"That's serious, country it is that her parents were murdered?" Mrs. Thomas asked, concerned.

"I can't say, ma, but there is the possibility of that if we relate it to her dreams," the patron answered.

"What can be done? I don't want anything that will mess with her mental health," Mrs. Thomas said.

"If she keeps on having such a dream, I will request that you ask her some questions and take her to a therapist," the patron suggested.

"Hmm, alright, ma, thank you so much for your time. I appreciate it, ma. I will be on my way now," Mrs. Thomas said as she stood up to take her leave.

"You are welcome, ma. Thank you for taking good care of her. My regards to Daddy," the patron said as Mrs. Thomas headed out of her office.

"Welcome, mummy," Jedidah greeted her mom as she entered.

"Thank you, my angel; sorry I had to quickly step out; have you eaten?" Mrs. Thomas asked, patting Jedidah's head.

"Yes, Mom, I took cereal," Jedidah replied with a smile.

"Oh, that's good, my big baby," Mrs. Thomas said with a smile.

"Oh yes, my baby, let's talk," Mrs. Thomas said to Jedidah as they both sat on the sofa.

"You know your parents, right? I mean, your parents, before you go to the

orphanage", Mrs. Thomas asked Jedidah.

"I know them, Mom," Jedidah said, sobbing.

"It's okay, baby. Can you tell me what happened?" Mrs. Thomas asked.

"One day, when I came back from school, my mom was at home, and we were preparing dinner before my dad came back from work. After eating at night, some people knocked on the door very loudly, and my mom asked me to go inside the room. I couldn't hear what they were saying, and not long after, I heard the sound of a gunshot," Jedidah explained.

"After some minutes, I couldn't hear anything again. I went out and saw my mom and dad dead on the floor. I ran out and kept shouting for help; it was our neighbors who took me in that night and took me to the orphanage," Jedidah concluded to Mrs. Thomas.

"Oh my baby, sorry about that." That's bad, but don't worry; you have me by your side now, okay? I'll do everything to make you happy, and about the dream, I'll take you to a therapist to help get the thoughts off your head," Mrs. Thomas assured Jedidah.

"In the last meeting, I talked about helping some humans against bad dreams and helping their good dreams come to pass," Lord Dion, the lord of the dreamcatcher, said.

"Yes, Lord," the dreamcatchers chorused.

"There is a little girl on earth I want to help. I want to take away her bad dreams and give her peace to make new dreams that would better her life." " Lord Dion said.

"Areo, you would be the one to go help the little girl," Lord Dion said, pointing to Dreamcatcher Areo.

"Thank you for the opportunity, my lord," Areo said.

"Come on, baby, let's go to bed. Enough of the TV for tonight," Mrs. Thomas said.

"Okay, Mom, goodnight, ma," Jedidah said to her mom as she hugged her and hurried to her room.

As sent, Areo visited Jedidah in her sleep, wiped away all her bad dreams and memories with his magic, and created a new dream of a happy life.

The next morning, Jedidah woke up happy and rushed to tell her mom that she didn't have a bad dream as usual.

"Mom, good morning, ma. I didn't have a bad dream today," Jedidah said happily.

Mrs. Thomas smiled and hugged her. "Good morning, my princess. I guess a miracle happened, right?" Mrs. Thomas asked.

Jedidah nodded in agreement and lay on her mom's bed.

A few days later, Mrs. Thomas asked Jedidah if she had the usual dream. "Baby, it has been a few days since you last told me anything about the dream; you don't have the scary dream anymore," Mrs. Thomas asked Jedidah one morning.

"Yes, Mom, I no longer have the scary dream, but today I dream of myself, you, and Daddy on a holiday to a beautiful place," Jedidah said happily.

"Wow, that's nice; just tell me you miss your dad," Mrs. Thomas said with a smile.

"Weldon Areo, the little girl, is enjoying her life now, until the next," Lord Dion said to Areo.

From that day onward, Jedidah no longer had bad and scary dreams, and she lived each day as it came, enjoying her new family.

Poor Jedidiah. No child should be put in a terrible situation as witnessing the murder of any parent. It definitely leaves a lasting scar on their minds making them leery of anything that seems related to what must have happened in the past. I'm glad the Lord of the dreamcatchers had compassion on the child and rid her off those nightmares.

A beautiful story full of fantasy. I really liked the idea of giving life to dream catchers and turning them into protectors of humans.

Thanks for sharing.
Happy day.
