If I had my talk show

Happy New Year to everyone in the hive Ghana community, and thanks to everyone who supported my work in the previous year. This prompt made me remember a talk show we had at my youth program towards the end of last year. Everyone gave their opinion but there wasn't enough time to deliberate more on the topic. We discussed a topic that everyone would have one or two things to say irrespective of their marital status. Lots of married men and women gave us lectures on the topic while single men and ladies also gave their views on the topic.

You all might be wondering what the topic was that made people so interested and some would have guessed from my introduction what the topic was all about. If I could have my talk show, I would love to interview married couples and singles. The reason for this set of people is that I would want to learn and also enlighten the public on what married couples are going through and what single men and women out there think of marriage when they have yet to marry. Single ladies and men always think or do feel marriage is a bed of roses, a union with your lover where things will remain the same when you are still in courtship while married men and women will disagree with the idea.

During this last talk show of the year in my church's youth program, I was surprised at lots of things being said by the married couples who were invited. It got to a point where I got discouraged and I had to ask myself, "Will I ever get married?" I wouldn't love to go through all the stress mentioned by the couples. That day, it was more or less like a debate, singles were supporting marriage and giving us the good points about why marriage is sweet while the married men and women were giving us the challenges faced in marriage which is the reason why some marriages don't last nor stand the test of time. It was that day I believed in the saying "If you haven't tried something, you wouldn't know whether to support or against".

I would love to continue the topic being discussed in the program because I believe lots of people out there have more answers to give, my question will be, "Why did marriage turn sour?". This is a question millions of people would want to answer and I'm sure if I could have a talk show and decided to ask this question, lots of people would be ready to be interviewed to give their views on what this topic is all about. Just like the popular saying that "one man's food is another man's poison". What seems to be working in A's marriage might not work in B's marriage thereby comparison causing problems in the marriage.

This is a topic that has numerous answers, if I have a talk show to discuss this, we will go for several weeks if not months without changing the topic. The answers are unending no matter how long we take to conclude them, the more we dig deeper, the more we find answers. This is a topic I have been willing to discuss since I attended the youth program, a talk show would be of great help in getting more people to share their points of view because this is a major problem in our societies today. Broken marriages and homes are multiplying daily with no remedy, then I do ask "What happened to the first love they started the relationship or marriage with?".
