Beautiful Dragonfly taking some rest

It is always amusing to look at the nature and get attracted. Yesterday I happened to see a dragonfly resting in top of a creeper plant. Dragonflies are not very sensitive to human beings. One can easily catch a dragonfly with their hands. I have done that several times. Even now after capturing all these photos I captured it with my hand and showed it to my mother. But I made sure the dragonfly was not hurt. I know it was disturbed though. Hope it doesn't mind.

I took the image from three different angles. I noticed that the dragonfly was watching what I was doing. But it was not disturbed at all. I spent some time with this dragonfly figuring out on which angle it would look nice. I now understand how other predators of dragonfly easily catch them. They are not very responsive to the surrounding. It becomes an opportunity for other species to easily catch them and eat.

It is said that if there are too many dragonflies around us, it means that rain is on its way. They also feed on mosquito larvae controlling too much of mosquito breeding. I'm not sure to what extent this information is true.
