I never knew Bacchus is the name of a person
It’s the name of a popular wine here in Nigeria

Bacchus was not a person, he was the Roman god of wine and the excesses caused by it and, in ancient traditions, one could say that he was also the protector of the vineyards and the festivals that were held in his honour after the harvest. These festivals later became the popular pilgrimages.
