Leadership is about Mentoring - A Lead from Sanskrit solokas

A person influences the other with their act, talk and behaviour are called the true leader. A leader has always been a role model for many. People tend to inact like them and follow them with dedication. This will lead to a whole lot of people who does similar things. Talking about the leadership role, our Sanskrit Solokas says.

राज्ञि धर्मिणि धर्मिष्ठाः पापे पापाः समे समाः|

राजानमनुवर्तन्ते यथा राजा तथा प्रजाः||

Raagyi dharmini dharmishthaah paape paapaa same samaah.
Raajanamanuvartante yathaa raajaa tathaa prajaah.

Raagy - Rulers of countries.
Dharmini = Religious austerity.
Dharmishthaa = religious minded.
Paape = Sinful, wicked .
Paapaah = sinful, wicked.
Samey = same.
Samaah = equal,
Rajaanamanuvartante = raajaanam +
anuvartante.
Raajanam = kings.
Anuvartante = follow up.
Yathaa = for instance.
Tathaa = accordingly.
Prajaa = the citizens

The solokas states that , If the rulers or leader of a Country observes Religious
austerity, then its citizens or followers are also religious minded and peaceful. If the leader or ruler is wicked then the citizens are also wicked and sinful . If the leader or rulers is simple, the citizens are also the same i.e. they follow the example of their rulers / leaders. It is rightly been said that the citizens of a Country follow the example set before them by the head of the state I.e the ruller or leader whom everyone follows.

As per my understanding, a leader is one who always directs its follower to the right direction. Instead of creating nuisance or lawlessness state , threader should work for overall development, that bring peace and harmony among the citizen. That is trullh been said.
